Broadcom Wifi Problem
I have a Broadcom 802.11b/g hardware on my dual-boot laptop.
Note first that in the WinXP partition, the wifi makes DHCP
connections to my router with no problem. Since this
was not working in my new CentOS 6 partition, and
remembering that there was a driver problem with the
old Fedora partition it replaced, I followed instructions

[LLVMdev] Possible LLVM or DragonEgg bug
I have downloaded and compiled the latest versions of LLVM and DragonEgg from SVN, but I still seem to get this same problem. I am using 64-bit Linux OS maybe the fix was only for 32-bit OS'es?

eliminating control characters from formatted data files
I have a few hundred files of formatted data. Unfortunately most of them end
with a spurious CONTROL-Z. I want to rewrite the files without the spurious
character. Here's what I've come up with so far, but my code is unsafe
because it assumes without justification that the last row of df contains a
control character (and some NAs to fill up the record).

charset in graphics
How do I make Lithuanian characters display correctly in R graphics?
Instead of the special characters for Lithuanian language I get question
marks...
I use Ubuntu Feisty, the locale is utf-8 ...
Do I need to specify somewhere the locale for R, or - default font for the
graphics?

filesystem becomming read only
Hi list,
I'm looking for advice/help in tracking down a problem with a new system
I've purchased.
I have a beige box server with a Gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G motherboard. It
has the nVidia MCP51 SATA controller with 3 250 gig Western Digital hard
drives attached to it.
It seems that when doing a considerable amount of file writing, the
filesystem will become read-only. See attached dmesg

Asterisk Community lost a valuable contributor today
I want to inform the community that last night one of our valuable
contributors and long-time community members, Rich Adamson, passed away
after a long battle with cancer.
Rich spent many, many hours sharing his valuable telecom and
transmission systems experience with everyone who could benefit from it;
he helped countless people solve audio quality and echo problems with
their analog lines when

nouveau contributor dinner Friday evening before FOSDEM?
Hello everyone,
I'm in for the dinner! As for the restaurant, since I never went to Brussels,
I'll follow the group's decision. Some time around 19:30–20:00? Most of us
should be in Brussels' centre by then I think.
Cheers,
Pierre

Hi,
https://llvm.org/docs/DeveloperPolicy.html#obtaining-commit-access still
describes the SVN process. How do things work now that we're on github?

Hi there,
I've just registered on that ml, in order to keep in touch with global
changes on the wiki.
I'm aiming at translating (parts of) the wiki in french,
being?errr?French :) I did not have time to look at any particular
article yet, if any translation of an article is more urgent than
another, just tell.

Hello,
I've just signed up to offer some of my time to the project as suggested by
Ernesto Celis on CentOS Spanish users' list.
I'd like to help translate the project's wiki pages to Spanish. I'll be
happy to receive some suggestions as to what would be my first assignment.
Cheers to you all and the biggest THANK YOU!
