cclust causes R to crash when using manhattan kmeans
Dear R users, When I run the following code, R crashes: require(cclust) x <- matrix(c(0,0,0,1.5,1,-1), ncol=2, byrow=TRUE) cclust(x, centers=x[2:3,], dist="manhattan", method="kmeans") While this works: cclust(x, centers=x[2:3,], dist="euclidean", method="kmeans") I'm posting this here because I am not sure if it is a bug. I've been searching

[cluster package question] What is the "sum of the dissimilarities" in the pam command ?
Hello Martin Maechler and All, A simple question (I hope): How can I compute the "sum of the dissimilarities" that appears in the pam command (from the cluster package) ? Is it the "manhattan" distance (such as the one implemented by "dist") ? I am asking since I am running clustering on a dataset. I found 7 medoids with the pam command, and from it I have the

Any better way of optimizing time for calculating distances in the mentioned scenario??
Dear All, I'm dealing with a case, where 'manhattan' distance of each of 100 vectors is calculated from 10000 other vectors. For achieving this, following 4 scenarios are tested: 1) scenario 1: > x<-read.table("query.vec") > v<-read.table("query.vec2") > d<-matrix(nrow=nrow(v),ncol=nrow(x)) > for (i in 1:nrow(v)){ + d[i,]<-

bug (?!) in "pam()" clustering from fpc package ?
Hello all. I wish to run k-means with "manhattan" distance. Since this is not supported by the function "kmeans", I turned to the "pam" function in the "fpc" package. Yet, when I tried to have the algorithm run with different starting points, I found that pam ignores and keep on starting the algorithm from the same starting-points (medoids). For my

R-alpha: Two buglets and a difference
I have come across three problems in the past few days, in spell of heavy R ( version R0.50-a4/Sun Solaris2.5.1 ) use. 1. I was using lwd=2 to get thicker lines on plots for printing, but although the 'lwd' parameter works fine with x11(), the thickened lines do not print with print.plot, or by using postscript() directly. 2. Try the following, plot(1:10, -(1:10))

title for plot contain 4 subplots
Hi, I'm plotting 4 graphs on one page (2x2 matrix) but I cant seem to get the title for the whole page right. I'm doing: op <- par(mfrow = c(2,2), pty="s") hist(var$V2, breaks="FD",main="Euclidean Metric", xlab="Sum of 3NN ... hist(var$V2, breaks="FD",main="Manhattan Metric", xlab="Sum of 3NN ... hist(var$V2,

Message lamp integration with legacy pbx -- revisited
I see from the archives that Siggi Langauf was wanting to do exactly what I want to do back in November 2003. Here is what he asked: I would like to do a pilot with some legacy gear, however. Accordingly, I'd like to be able to have * dial 1000X where X is the box that has a new voicemail message and 1001X when the user of mb X deletes the new message(s). The dialing should occur

7960 + 7914 Problems
I'm still having problems getting this to work. I cannot get anything to display on my 7914 other than blank lines. I have SIP/5920-5930 in [main] that I'd like to add to the 7914 and indicate hook status. The 7960 is registering okay as SCCP/5000. What exactly should my sccp.conf file look like? When I make changes to this, how do I enact them? Do I reload Asterisk and reboot the phone

SNOM Subscribe/Notify
I'm using a SNOM 360 with Ver 4.3 software. Asterisk is.... Asterisk CVS-D2005.05.02.22.00.00-05/04/05 (BRI Stuff + Head) I've used the wiki info to set up some lines to monitor some internal extensions. When the extension is rung - the lamp comes on, when the call is answered, the lamp goes off.. I was expecting something a little more exciting - like the lamp to flash when the

Manhattan Plot
Hello, I am trying to create a simple Manhattan plot for a small list of 200 SNPs spread out in the genome in different genes. I have tried different functions (using ggplot2 and a function created by Stephen Turner, mhtplot etc.)-none of them work smoothly. Does anyone have a simple way to create the plot (not for all 22 chromosomes)- with the x axis showing the genes name and not the

CentOS 6.4, LAMP, MariaDB
Hi, I am trying to install a LAMP stack using MariaDB on CentOS 6.4, 64 bit. I have installed MariaDB by using the MariaDB repository configuraton tool. I installed php by itself. Both MariaDB and php individually test fine. I know that php-mysql has to be installed to complete the LAMP stack installation. From lots of googling I understand that there is a php-mysql and a php-mysqlnd.

duke nukem manhattan project - doesn't see the CD
Hi I've successfully installed Duke Nukem Manhattan Project, but when I try to start it, it prompts for the CD, although the CD is in the drive and the drive is set up properly in Wine settings. It seems people have run the game successfully on wine, so perhaps someone's got a clue about this issue. Thanks for any help!

How do I do this?
I have 2 asterisk servers - serverA and serverC - connected via IAX2. On serverA, I have a "telemarketer hold" extension which, if I transfer a caller into it, loops around playing music & "please wait" messages, until they give up & hang up the phone. Also on serverA, I have a custom devstate, which lights a lamp on a phone connected to serverA, which tells me if

I posted this earlier on the development list. For those of you who watch both lists, please pardon the duplication. Currently, in our * lab we use all SIP phones so the MWI NOTIFY works perfect. I would like to do a pilot with some legacy gear, however. Accordingly, I'd like to be able to have * dial 1000X where X is the box that has a new voicemail message and 1001X when the user of mb X

Manhattan Plot
To whom it may concern: My name is Jillian Weinfeld. I am currently and undergraduate student at New York University and working at Mount Sinai School of Medicine doing research with epilepsy patients. At the moment I am creating a manhattan plot with my data set. After reading many forums and such, I have appropriately plotted my data, however, I wanted to see how I can change the colors of the
