In the form, when a type of model is selected I populate the select box for

./tools/wineinstall
Great work, but I have a suggestion: Near the end of the install I get the following message: "Could not stat /mnt/fd0 (No such file or directory), ignoring drive A:" would not `grep /dev/fd0 /etc/fstab | awk '{print $2}'` have been a more sensible default? or perhaps something a little more clever that takes account of zip drives etc? The items_tags table links items to tags. - I have one item which has certain tags, and I want to look up all the other items that have those tags as well - results should be sorted and presented by

understanding stemming and synonyms
I am working with version 1.2.7 and want to use stemming and synonyms. I use the perl-bindings and get some problems. First of all: the perl-bindings dont allow the QueryParser a third argument when calling parse_query! So i cannot set a default prefix (which perhaps is the solution to my problem, but later more) i have a simple testcase: 3 documents, every document only has one word:

Dynamically setting the image directory used by attachment_fu
It took me a while to figure this out and I don''t see any wiki pages for attachment_fu so I figure I would just post this here. I didn''t like the way attachment_fu by default creates directories under a given directory for a specific class e.g. item_image/1/img_1.jpg item_image/1/img_1_thumb.jpg item_image/2/img_2.jpg item_image/2/img_2_thumb.jpg item_image/3/img_3.jpg

Self-referential many-many joins with :through
I thought I had this nailed but.. now I''m seeing spots.. I''ve included my models below, feel free to ignore them. I''m really just after an example that works. I couldnt find one on the wiki... which is fair enough considering Ricks patch: http://dev.rubyonrails.org/changeset/4022 that fixed them only went through 5 days ago.. Cheers -henster

Hello guys, I''m a scriptaculous newbie (I started working with it only yesterday) and I have already the first problem. [LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] RFC: A Great Renaming of Things (or: Let's Repaint ALL the Bikesheds!)
Hi there. What about repainting the top-level bike-shed - the build system itself? I've got a framework called "v3c" in SourceForge that has a top-level makefile. From that makefile you can just do "make" to build it with debug information, "make release" for a release build, "make -j7 distcheck" to throw a few cores at the build, "make -j7 git

HELP: acts_as_taggable problem with :clear => true
I''ve got the basics of acts_as_taggable going, but I now want to use :clear => true on the tags method, because the tags I''m supplying as parameters are the complete set of tags for the item, not additions to existing tags. Problem is, that gives me a nasty SQL error ... Unknown column ''id'' in ''where clause'': UPDATE items_tags SET

Validation dependent on unsaved parent
I''m having trouble with a validation that depends on an attribute of a belongs_to parent. If the child is added to an unsaved parent (parent.children << new child), the has_many collection parent.children includes the unsaved child. However the belongs_to attribute child.parent appears to be nil until the parent has been saved. Without access to the parent attributes, the validation

Limit attributes written out by to_yaml
I want to write out a series of records to a text file so that I can quickly edit them and then upload then again into the database. To do this I am using YAML and some code that looks like this: item = Item.find 153 File.open( ''item.yaml'', ''w'' ) do |out| YAML.dump( item, out ) end This dumps out all the field names and values which are stored in the
