[PATCH] linux/i386: allow CONFIG_HIGHPTE on i386 (take 2)
While, as discussed, the performance impact of this option is certainly higher than on native Linux, the option should not be entirely disallowed if people want to sacrifice performance for less lowmem pressure. [PATCH] linux: Allow actually using CONFIG_XEN_BLKDEV_TAP=m
Again, this got broken. It would be really nice if regression testing included building as a module everything that can be configured as such... As usual, written and tested against 2.6.23 and made apply against 2.6.18 without further testing. Signed-off-by: Jan Beulich <jbeulich@novell.com> Index: head-2007-10-15/arch/i386/mm/hypervisor.c

linux'' X86_MSR config option
.. is out of sync on i386 and x86-64 - should it be allowed on i386, or should it be suppressed on x86-64? Since Xen fails ill accesses, I would assume enabling it on i386 is fine. [PATCH 2/10] linux 2.6.18: COMPAT_VDSO
This adds support for CONFIG_COMPAT_VDSO. As this will certainly raise questions, I left in the code needed for an alternative approach (which requires mode C code, but less build script changes). [PATCH] x86: adjust reserved bit page fault handling

[PATCH] x86: don't allow Dom0 to map MSI-X table writably
With the traditional qemu tree fixed to not use PROT_WRITE anymore in the mmap() call for this region, and with the upstream qemu tree not being capable of handling passthrough, yet, there''s no need to treat Dom specially here anymore. This continues to leave unaddressed the case where PV guests map the MSI-X table page(s) before setting up the first MSI-X interrupt (see the original c/s

[PATCH] two missing bits (was Re: Add -Wcast-qual flag)
Hi! I catched two pieces with debug and crash_debug enabled. One of them fixes a build error even without the -Wcast-qual flag. Patch attached. _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

RE: [PATCH] Update for new tpm emulator [Replacement Patch]
Sorry, the other patch was broken. I type-o-ed in the patch creation process and made a big patch of stuff already checked in. This patch should replace the last one. -Vinnie Scarlata -----Original Message----- From: xen-devel-bounces@lists.xensource.com [mailto:xen-devel-bounces@lists.xensource.com] On Behalf Of Scarlata, Vincent R Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 5:45 PM To:

x86: clear_IO_APIC_pin() and SMI delivery mode
clear_IO_APIC_pin() ignores entries that are set to delivery mode SMI. While this seems reasonable if the entry was unmasked, I consider it dubious for masked entries. In Linux, such behavior is benign since when the entry later is being used for some normal interrupt, the old setting is simply overwritten. In Xen, however, ioapic_guest_write() uses the vector field to determine the previous

[PATCH][vTPM] 3/3: TPM device model for qemu dm
This patch adds a TPM device model to the qemu dm for fully virtualized VMs. It is enabled in the VM only if the user requests a TPM device in the vm configuration file using the ''vtpm=[...]'' line. It enables the qemu device model command line with a ''vtpm_instance <instance number>'' parameter. Signed-off-by: David Safford <safford@watson.ibm.com>

[PATCH] xen-blk[front|back] FUA additions.
I am proposing these two patches for 3.2. They allow the backend to process the REQ_FUA request as well. Previous to these patches it only did REQ_FLUSH. There is also a bug-fix for the logic of how barrier/flushes were handled. The patches are based on a branch which also has ''feature-discard'' patches, so they won''t apply nativly on top of 3.1-rc5. Please review and

Using TPM in dom0
Hi, i am using Xen 3.2.0 and want to use the TPM in dom0. I have activated vtpm and everything runs fine in my domUs. The question is, how can I access the TPM in dom0? As far as I know vtpm_managerd exclusively locks /dev/tpm0. As soon as I start vtpm_managerd my own program cannot access the TPM anymore. Is there a vtpm instance for dom0 like the ones for the user domains? Thanks in advance

linux c/s 561
Keir, this change looks a little odd to me - the code as it was before already set the timeout to jiffies + 1 as the lowest possible value. So I don''t understand how you could have observed any spinning over more than really short periods of time (where you happen to just see jiffies increment while setting the timeout). I''d therefore appreciate any insight to the background of

4.0-testing c/s 21405 incomplete?
Keir, George, it in particular doesn''t do what its title says: "Remove lock in ept_get_entry, ..." - the last two hunks are simply missing compared to -unstable c/s 22526 (I have no cluse how that happened).
