Slider controls
Heya!
Thanks to Marty Haught, script.aculo.us (as of changeset 2281) now
sports
a new Control for horizontal and vertical sliders.
See the functional test file (test/functional/slider_test.html) for
information
on how to use it.
Basically, you do:

Slider as Scrollbar in a window
Hi,
I ran into deep problems using scrollbar features shown at
http://www.aldenta.com/examples/script.aculo.us/.
The scripts work as expected, but if i use the separate window effect
(based on prototype and script aculo us, too)

Slider.js - Attemting to put values in form.
I can''t figure out how to take that value that the user has chosen in
the slider and put that into a form value. Does anybody know how to do
this?

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
Erik,
The command used by abcde is
metaflac --no-utf8-convert
--import-cuesheet-from=/home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/cue-50107806.txt
--import-tags-from=- /home/me/Audio/abcde.50107806/track1.flac
but I get the same result re-trying without the --no-utf8-convert
and -no-utf8-convert.
Here's the cuesheet:

Difficulty w/1.0 and Sonique/Winamp
I am very excited to see the Vorbis 1.0 out.
Unfortunately, neither Sonique 1.808a nor Winamp 2.5
is willing to play the resulting files. Only silence.
I tried the simple case of 'oggenc track1.wav' and it
created the expected track1.ogg, 3.5MB in size with
avg. bitrate of 110kbps at default quality 3. These
applications worked fine with a much older version of
oggenc. Maybe Beta 2

slider control for touch screens?
I was wooed here by this demo page for the script.aculo.us slider control:

metaflac crashes adding cuesheet
Erik,
I don't know what abcde would be providing as tags, or why on Earth it
would be importing that from stdin. Unfortunately, abcde is a bash
script, and so not exactly easy for me to read. I haven't gotten any
response from posting on their mailing list.
I do get the same crash when running metaflac without the
--import-tags-from,
so I'm not sure this is the problem. Unless

Slider: passing the slider object to onChange and onSlide?
I''m working with a couple of slider objects on one page.
I''m using onChange to do a couple of things. onChange passes the new value
of the slider, but not the slider object itself. Has anybody found a way to
get the object?

question about --bwlimit=
I am doing some benchmarking of rsync. I am using the --bwlimit= option to throttle down rsync to predict its operation over slow communications links. I am using rsync 2.6.2 from the release site without any patches. I downloaded the release rather than pull from the CVS tree.

Increasing database size limit

Trust relationships are the option we keep in mind. As trusts are for now
bidirectional-full-trust they give us possibility to increase domain size.
If we have to split our domain we will split in one domain for users and
another for computers (meaning users' MS Windows computers as they need to

Samba 4 Slow Performance

After using samba 3 for two years, I have just spent totally one week finishing setting up a samba 4 file system in my working school. There are about 200 computers, 80+ staff, 1000 students and 10 printers. The AD was properly setup, mandatory profile and one GPO policy (which is printer download trust) is effective for all users.
