waveband
Dear all,
The package waveband, for computing wavelet shrinkage credible intervals, has been uploaded to CRAN.
This was previously bundled with wavethresh, but has now been unbundled.
Best wishes,

wavethresh: length must be power of two
Hello.
I am using the 4.2 version of the wavethresh package available from here: http://www.stats.bris.ac.uk/~wavethresh/ trying to follow the book of Nason (http://www.springer.com/978-0-387-75960-9).
I am interested in the analysis of several years time series of daily data with wavelets methods. But the functions of this package only accept data whose lengths are power of two, even for

Error whilst building packages
Dear All,
I have been working on building a new version of the Wavethresh package for
some time now. Having build a working version on Linux, I am getting the
following error when checking on Windows:
C:\Rpackages\R\rw2000\bin>Rcmd check wavethresh
* checking for working latex ... OK
* using log directory 'C:/Rpackages/R/rw2000/bin/wavethresh.Rcheck'

dos filetime resolution and dvf
I am not getting much benefit from using
oplocks = False
or
dos filetime resolution = True
in Samba 1.9.18p3 on Solaris 2.5.1 and the Developer Studio in Digital
Visual Fortran (v6.0) on WinNT4,SP4. I am also setting my PC clock
to the samba server.
I still get a lot of messages from the Studio informing me the source
code files and workspaces have changed outside the editor or Studio

Fwd: Re: Wavelet reconstruction
I realized that I may not have answered the question you were asking and that no one else has responded. I can across a similar problem and may have an answer to your question now. If you have both the wavelet coefficients and the scaling coefficients then create a fake sequence of the same length as the original and decompose that sequence using wd form wavethersh with the same wavelet family

shrinkage estimates in lme
Hello. Slope estimates in lme are shrinkage estimates which pull the
OLS slope estimates towards the population estimates, the degree of
which depends on the group sample size and the distance between the
group-based estimate and the overall population estimate. Although
these shrinkage estimates as said to be more precise with respect to the
true values, they are also biased. So there is a

Setting up BackupPC on CentOS-7
I am interested in understanding the thing with BackupPC.
What does it have compared to basic rsync?
- It has a webui
Is it like a central backup server? if so, how it works with windows
clients(if it is?)
Just want to make sure.. I understood right.
Why did you choose this over other software?
Thanks,
Eliezer

How do I call a C++ function (for k-means) within R?
I am trying to call a C++ k-means function within R and I am struggling. I
know that the below code is used to call a C++ function for gbm but how do I
do it for k-means?
gbm.obj <- .Call("gbm",
Y=as.double(y),
Offset=as.double(offset),
X=as.double(x),
X.order=as.integer(x.order),
