pxelinux takes too long trying all the config file options
Hi All, I have a situation where I want to netboot and ONLY use pxelinux.cfg/default. It seems to take FOREVER for pxelinux to try all of the config file file options before falling through to default .... trying each possible combination multiple times ... increasing the wait time everytime it doesn't get a response. >From my log: Apr 2 19:53:17 helium tftpd[3372124]: tftpd: trying to

odd behaviour change (2.6.3 > 2.6.4pre3)
Synopsis: Prior to the 2.6.4pre versions, issuing 'rsync rsync://host/module/' behaved effectively as 'ls -l'. I've toyed with various options in an attempt to get an 'ls -l' style output, but to no avail. As I have a small handful of scripts that rely on this no-longer-functioning functionality, this could be considered a Bad Thing(TM). Following is an example of

autocompleter competing with saved form data in firefox
Hi all, I have used the sciptaculous Ajax autocompleter a few times now. A major problem I have at the moment is with a text field that has focus when a page loads. The text field has an autocompleter associated with it, but when the user starts typing, the firefox saved form data autocompleter appears first, and the scriptaculous one is partially hidden behind it. Has anyone else encountered

mail delivery question
I've built a new mail system with Centos 6.5, and I'm running fetchmail - sendmail - procmail to maildir. I have all of this working at the moment.(I know, postfix was the default, but for lots of other reasons, I switched, and that isn't an issue, I don't think). I am using dovecot as an imap server. Procmail won't update indexes during email delivery, so I'm having some

rsync 2.6.5 segfault using --fuzzy & --link-dest
I've been reworking my backup script & decided to give some of the newer options a try. It would appear I've found a combination that doesn't play nice. $ rsync --archive --delete-during --fuzzy --hard-links --numeric-ids --quiet --sparse --temp-dir /backup/helium/ --link-dest /backup/hydrogen/tuesday/ --password-file /backup/helium/.password rsync://backup@helium/backup/

Samba 2.2.8a/winbindd - 2K Domain users passwordchallenged
Okay okay - forgive me for being a whiney itchbay. But the fix was (when discussing *nix systems) quite counter intuitive ... I noticed that, even after using chmod #uid file, that the system was not returning the string name for the appropriate numerical uid. So, since I was headed out to lunch, I went ahead and rebooted the server. Lo and behold it all appears to work now. Correctly even.

Fit Gompertz' curve'
Hi, I build a graph taking into account the times: 1, 2,4,6,8,10,12,15,18,21,24,28,32 and 48. Be that the scale of the X axis does not look right. It seems equidistant. (graph attached) What changes have I to do in the following commands so that the scale be correct? interaction.plot(Tempo, Trat, Valor, ylim=c(0, 2), las=1, lty=c(1,2,3,4), lwd=3, bty='l',

Inquiry about matrix pooling
Dear R-users, I am a relatively new R user and I have a simple question. Is there a command attached to a R function, which performs matrix pooling? Centos 6.6 procmail trouble
I have a 6.5 machine that had everything set up and working correctly (fetchmail, sendmail w/ starttls, procmail, spamassassin) but the MB cratered. I bought a new machine, and installed Centos 6.6 and all is not well. I used the config from the previous incarnation (via backups) for fetchmail (works fine), sendmail (works fine for sending via relay and tls), but procmail now refuses to pick up

No IrDA Support with CentOS anymore?
Hi there, I've a laptop with CentOS 8 and a PC with CentOS 7. After 3 years of break I was Scuba Diving last 3 weeks. Back at home I wish to download all dive logs from my divecomputer connext via IrDA to my PC. But no kernel modul for IrDA was found. Dear Michael, One key is adjustment of nls optimizer tolerance. I notice it has to be higher than usual, but, I recovered your noisy "known" parameter values with an error of K1 (-7%) and k1 (-6%): #### Miller problem with Dalgaard modifications ## Linares 1/22/2004 ## Solution 1 nls(noisy ~ lsoda(xstart, time, one.compartment.model, c(K1=K1, k2=k2))[,2], data=C1.lsoda,

sieve addflag has stopped working
Dovecot 1.2.10 in Debian, using Dovecot sieve. I have a sieve script, generated by Ingo, that's supposed to mark spam messages as "Seen" and file them into the Junk folder. In part it reads: require ["regex", "body", "imapflags", "fileinto"]; if exists "X-Spam-Flag" { addflag "\\Seen"; fileinto

Fitting compartmental model with nls and lsoda?
Dear Colleagues, Our group is also working on implementing the use of R for pharmacokinetic compartmental analysis. Perhaps I have missed something, but > fit <- nls(noisy ~ lsoda(xstart, time, one.compartment.model, c(K1=0.5, k2=0.5)), + data=C1.lsoda, + start=list(K1=0.3, k2=0.7), + trace=T + ) Error in eval(as.name(varName), data) : Object
