A bug (?) in Rgui Configuration Editor (buffer lines) in R1.2.0 for Windows (Rgui.exe)
Dear R users:
Today (December 18th) I downloaded R1.2.0 for Windows from
ftp://ftp.stat.unipd.it/users/guido/RWin
and then invoked its Rgui.exe to change its gui configuration. After I set
new values in Rgui configuration Editor frame and saved the set of new
parameters as a "Rconsole" file, then I re-started Rgui and R issued an
error message concerning the buffer-line-value in the

AW: running Rcmd INSTALL: working now!
I almost didn't believe in it anymore, but Rcmd INSTALL finally is working
for me!
Thanks to all who helped on this, especially to Guido Masarotto, Brian
Ripley, John Fox, Peter Dalgaard, Uwe Ligges.
Anyway, I do think the documentation is a bit confusing here (at least for
me, I don't know if others have felt the same). It might be a good idea to
add the essence of Brians and Guidos

Pre-release of R-0.64.1 for Windows
A pre-release of R-0.64.1 for Windows is available at
CRAN/bin/windows/windows-NT/pre-0.64.1.
Since there are a lot of Windows specific changes (see below for a list),
we hope that many Windows users of R will test this version and make comments.
REMARK: I am posting this message on r-help hoping to reach a larger number
of Windows users. But, please, replay or directly to Brian D. Ripley

RE: R 1.1.1 for Windows (NT/9x/2000)
Guido:
Thank you so much for this, but I wonder, when there is a new release of R,
how can I know which packages in contrib need to be re-compiled? I still
have all the .zip files from 1.1.0 on my hard drive here, but I am unsure
whether to install them under 1.1.1. Thanks for your help.
