GRUB2 configuration for Xen 4 on Ubuntu Linux 10.04
Hello,
I have installed the Xen 4.1.1 and a working kernel 2.6.32.43 which supports
Xen on a Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS. However, I have never successfully booted
the Hypervisor and Dom0. The screen is always black after some kernel
messages rapidly go by. I think that I may pass the wrong parameters to the
kernel or Hypervisor with GRUB2.
Can any one share his/her working grub.cfg for GRUB2 with

Booting Xen 4.0.x with GRUB2 on Ubuntu 10.04
Hello, all,
I have finished compiling the Xen tools and Dom0 kernel. The new kernel
alone boots well. However, I cannot figure out how to configure the GRUB2
to boot all components together. I present my GRUB2 configuration below.
Please give me some suggestions or give me your properly working
configuration file to me as a reference.

disk offline with xen4.0+pvops2.6.31.13
we have just upgraded to xen4.0+kernel2.6.31.13. however, we fonud
that disk offline in high disk IO(xen4.0+kernel2.6.31.13). but whitout
xen4.0, we only start with kernel2.6.31.13, the disk offline didn''t
happen.
I think it is a bug.
test case:

we start 5 vm(cpu:2, memory:1024) in a physical machine.at the same
time we do decompression in dom0.

Re: Xen4.0/FC8/Linux-2.6.31.13 hang on boot
Rebuilt Xen4.0 with linux-2.6.18 and have seen no problems during boot. So
is it the linux kernel that caused the problem? Then why don''t I see any
problem when I try the 4th grub entry?

logistic regression with temporal correlation
Hello
We would like to perform a logistic regression analysis weighting the
independent variable in a temporal fashion, i.e. events occuring most
recent get highest weight. Does anyone know how to do this in R??

6.4 : How to enable epel and the rpmfusions??
I've installed 6.4 on an old T30 ThinkPad, and I'm
in the midst of setting it up. I can't seem to get an rpm of Pan for it,
nor even to do yum update.
Mousing around fedoraproject eventually got me to http://
rpmfusion.org/Configuration/ and from there to downloads for the free,
nonfree, and epel packages (along with a caveat that tells you -- *after*
you've gotten rpmfusion

Xen max supported memory per guest VM?
Hello,
In http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Xen4.0 we mention the following:
"Better performance and scalability: 128 vcpus per guest, 1 TB of RAM per host, 128 physical CPUs per host (as a default, can be compile-time increased to lots more)."
But what''s the max supported amount of memory for a (64bit) guest?

I just upgraded my Debian/Etch with Xen3.3 machine to Debian/Squeeze
Xen4.0 and now have problems with starting the Dom0 kernel. I always get
the error message: Kernel panic not syncing: the kernel parameter noapic
is incompatible with xen.
My grub.cfg is:

Xen and the InfiniBand
Hi, all,
Is the Xen currently compatible with the InfiniBand? I found some
information about the Smart I/O module, but it was posted in 2006. Is the
module still maintained? Or, are there any up-to-date alternatives for
that?
Many thanks,
Chiu

can dom0 in Xen4.0 be rebooted (from domU or from within dom0) anytime without loosing anything ?
If so, please provide details. If not, does Xen.org have this in roadmap ?

RE: xen - rdma live migration support
Hi Ola,
There was some code done by IBM a few years ago in conjunction with a University that worked and showed the benefits but AFAIK it was never integrated into Xen. The research paper is around on the web.
A few of us requested RDMA migration support for version 4.0 and it is at the top of the request list, I suspect it is probably a case of enough people asking and Citrix approving.

I am running XEN 4.1 on Debian 6 and I cannot find blktapctrl process
running. xend is started. I installed XEN from 4.1 source following
instructions here:

Should there be a blktapctrl process running in this version?

Xen 4.0 build git
After download of Xen4.0,
Is there a simple way to disable to not
download from git implicitly ?
(I already did it offline and
would like to use that build instead.)
Idea is: "make world" would not enforce git automatically.
Any suggestions ?
