Hello, I''ve this strange problem. When Xen kernel start and it try to start eth devices, network doesn''t work. It seems to be a problem with NICs firmware. Anyone had this problem? Do you know where I can download firmware upgrade? (on DELL''s site I''ve just searched...) Thanks, Carlo No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2 bridging problem
Hi, I''ve run into the same issue as: http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-07/msg00599.html In that, running the network bridge script kills networking completely, trying to ping the gateway gives me destination host unreachable. The card is: 09:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 11) Using the bnx2 module:

XEN - Broadcom issue: survey
I totally agree with Luc Boudreau about this problem. On modern branded server they ALL use Broadcom chipset... I must admit that: a) lot of people are experiencing the problem but can tolerate it or b) someone already experienced this problem and solved it Lets'' approach the problem pragmatically... just start with a survey on the list. ... hope we solve this issue soon. help--dom0 network goes unpingable when xend starts
I installed 64-bit xen 3.1.0 (from xensource.com tarballs) on three new machines today, using a configuration setup that I''ve used successfully many times before. However, I encountered a new problem. These are Dell Poweredge 1950 servers, by the way. >From lspci 04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 12) 08:00.0 Ethernet

RESOLVED: Debian Xen + Broadcom NetXtreme II (IBM x3655 7985-AC1)
I have a new x3655 IBM and whenever the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge script starts, the ethernet would no longer work. This post isn''t about the cause, but the fix. I did a lot of tcpdumps and Googling, but I''ll spare you that. All they do is prove that yes, there is an issue. :) I tried Debian 4.0 i386/amd64 and Ubuntu 7.04 Server i386/amd64 and they all exhibit the

Hi, I have a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with two NICs Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5708 1000Base-T. I installed CentOS 5.1 and Xen 3.0.3 (RPM). One of my virtual machines has Windows 2003 Server. Tips for motherboard with multiple PCI / PCI-e slots
Hi, I need to fit at least three NICs and I was looking for motherboard models that contain 3 or 4 CPI (or PCI-e) slots and works with CentOS. I had a problem in the past with some models that had a bug and did not work well with linux (ok with windows) so that's way I am asking this here. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... CentOS 6 : Network Interface Naming
Hello All, I have one CentOS 6 KVM virtualization server that I built around a year ago (best I can tell it was in October 2012) at which time I would have been installing 6.3 [0]. That particular install used the Consistent Network Device Naming [1] conventions (PCIe NICs are p1p1, p1p2). I started to build out a new KVM virt server (kickstarting a 6.4 install now as compared to 6.3 back then)

Dedicate Nic''s to DomU''s
Hey all I''m new to Linux and Virtualizing. I''m trying to dedicate my nic''s to each virtual server. For instance, virt server A would use nic1 and virt server B would use nic2 and so on. I''ve been reading some stuff for this list and to tell you the truth I''m a bit overwhelmed. We are going to run SLES10.1 and Xen. I would appreciate any assistance.

Bonding and network cards
Hi, I have been playing this weekend with bonding on PCI netcards and found that all of netcards I have, but old 3com, do not support MII. So bonding is not going to happen with them. Do you have some pci netcards supporting MII successfully running on bonging? Thanks, David Hrb??

broadcom 802.3ad
Does anyone have some tips for setting up Broadcom's 802.3AD support or just getting their driver compiled / installed? First off, I noticed redhat claims the broadcom bcm5708 driver has been added to the rhel4 kernel. But I don't see /proc/net/nicinfo which broadcom claims the driver creates when it's successfully initialized. So, I'm trying to build the driver based on the
