I have an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD. For optimum performance, I need to block align the SSD device, but I am not sure exactly how I should to it. If I run the format -> fdisk it allows me to partition based on a cylinder, but I don''t think that is sufficient enough. Can someone tell me how they block aligned an SSD device for use in l2arc. Dear all, given a DVD drive and DAT Tape Drive, and using Solaris 10 U7 (5/09), how can we plan for a total backup of ZFS root disk and procedure to recover that? Previously using UFS, we just need to use boot from Solaris OS DVD media, also using ufsdump, ufsrestore and installboot. Hi all, I currently have four drives in my OpenSolaris box. The drives are split into two mirrors, one mirror containing my rpool (disks 1 & 2) and one containing other data (disks 2 & 3). I''m running out of space on my data mirror and am thinking of upgrading it to two 2TB disks. I then considered replacing disk 2 with a 2TB disk and making a RAIDz from the three new drives.
