[GIT PULL] devel/pat + devel/kms.fixes-0.5
Hey Jeremy,
Please pull from devel/pat (based off your xen/dom0/core tree) which
has one patch:
Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk (1):
xen/pat: make pte_flags(x) a pvops function.
which is neccessary for the drivers/gpu/drm/radeon driver to work
properly with AGP based cards (which look to be the only ones that
try to set WC on pages).
Also please pull from devel/kms.fixes-05 (based off your

Xen + Debian Squeeze + Recent ATI Graphics Card
Hi List,
I'm looking for some info regarding the above - I've got a machine with a fairly
recent ATI Radeon graphics card (RV730XT) installed that ultimately I'd like to
run Xen with a Debian Squeeze Dom0.
From the reading I've done so far, the situation with graphics cards and PVOPS
is not entirely clear to me, hence this request. (N.B. I appreciate that Xen is

Step-by-step tutorial: Installing Xen 4.0.1 rpms on Fedora 13 with pvops Linux 2.6.32.x dom0 kernel
Hello,
I just wrote a step-by-step tutorial how to install the latest Xen 4.0.1 hypervisor
on Fedora 13 (x86_64) host from src.rpm packages, and the pvops dom0 kernel from git repository.
Check it out: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/Fedora13Xen4Tutorial
It also shows how to install various Xen PV guests using the native distro installers:

Accessing console for Xen 4.0 with 2.6.31 pvops kernel on Dell Poweredge R610
I am currently using a Dell PowerEdge server R610 with Xen 4.0 installed and
the 2.6.31.13 pvops kernel.
I am accessing the server console using the iDRAC KVM feature of the dell
management console.
Does anyone know how to configure the console option in the grub menu so
that all the boot messages can be seen on the
mgmt console?
Currently I can view only the Xen bootup messages if I dont specify

Hello list,
I have performed a fresh install (fully updated) of
squeeze amd64 and installed the xen-linux-system-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 package
with all its dependencies.
When I restart and tried to boot the linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 (pvops style) kernel on bare-metal my laptop boots fine.
When I use the hyper-visor on the system with the same linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 kernel, it hangs

PFIFO_DMA_PUSHER + Xen + NV30 + questions.
Hello,
I am kernel engineer working on PV-OPS kernel trying to get it work in Dom0
with an NVidia (NV30 right now) card.
But there are issues, such as that the
pv-ops kernel has a different understanding of memory (for details check
out: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenPVOPSDRM).
I've fleshed out most of them (like GART had the wrong phys addresses,
ouch!), but the one that I am

pvops xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch.
At the moment it''s *only* compile-tested with the latest xen/stable-2.6.32.x

Screen corruption and crash at boot with Xen 4.1.0 & linux 2.6.39 on some systems
I have a custom built system based on LFS 6.6 with xen 4.1.0 & linux 2.6.39 built from source. The system boots correctly on one system (after a problem with the USB disk has been worked around), however when I try to boot the same system on another machine the screen corrupts shortly after handover from the bootloader. This happens on 2 out of the 3 machines I have tried it on.

Need help in compiling and installing Xen-3.4.1 on Lucid
Hi,
I am a Xen newbie and have been trying to get Xen-3.4.1 working on my Ubuntu
Lucid (kernel version 2.6.32-21) system, using kernel 2.6.18.8 as dom0. In
attempting this, I ran into the following issue. On booting into Xen, I get
these errors:
Mounting none on /dev failed. No such device.

Gave up waiting for root device.

Problem with restore/migration with Xen 4.0.0 and Jeremy kernel (2.6.32.12)
Hi all,
I am using Xen 4.0.0 on top of Ubuntu Lucid (amd64), with the Jeremy
kernel taken from git (xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch, 2.6.32.12 when I am
writing this email). This kernel is also used in my domu.
I can save a domu without any problem, but restoring it may need from 2
to 5 minutes, from a 1G checkpoint file (domu has 1GB RAM). There also
errors in /var/log/xen/xend.log :

Re: pvusb drivers for pvops 2.6.32.x kernel
Hello,
Jeremy: See the included patch. If it''s OK it''d be nice
to get it into xen/stable-2.6.32.x branch.
Thanks Nathanael!

Re: Benchmarking GPL PV Drivers for Windows between0.9.11-pre13 and 0.10.0.69
Pasi,
Thanks for putting that wiki page together for the dom0 kernels - it's
something that has long been needed for pulling together information on
those kernels. I know it's always a chore for me to find info on how to
get/build a dom0 kernel if I don't like the one that's included with a
distribution.
Thanks!
