Bug: Limitation of <=2GB RAM in domU persists with 4.3.0
I just built 4.3.0 in order to get > 2GB of RAM in domU with GPU passthrough without crashes. Unfortunately, the same crashes still happen. Massive frame buffer corruption on domU before it locks up solid. It seems the PCI memory stomp is still happening. I am using qemu-dm, as I did on Xen 4.2.x. So whatever fix for this went into 4.3.0 didn''t fix it for me. Passing less than 2GB

Xen HVMs run VERY slowly on SAN box
We are running a 2-node cluster with Debian Squeeze (2.6.32-5-xen-amd64) and Xen 4.0.1 on the dom0 and Ubuntu lucid domUs. We are now using fully virtualized (HVM) vms. In our configuration the dom0 administers to domUs created and run on a SAN box accessed via private network (192.168...). A sample configuration file is pasted below. We have had little or no IO problem with HVMs created and

problems with xen and sr-iov/iommu
Hi all, I''ve fetched the xen 4.0.1 source from the usual spot and have git''d the stable dom0 source (recently) from the jeremy repository, have successfully built and installed each of these on my VT-x and VT-d capable x86_64 system, over a fedora 14 installation. Most of the features seem to be running just fine, but I''m having a real problem getting the virtual

xen xl command set date for hvm
Hi, New to this list and kindof new to Xen. I''m testing some code that works with communications between different Windows hosts. Right now I''m using Xen and a dozen or so hvms. It would be convenient if I could set the date/time of each hvm when I launch them with XL. Is there a way to do this? The code I''m working with has a lot of logic that hinges on each

No IOMMU found. Unable to assign device
Hi, I am playing around with PCI passthrough and came across some posts that said you could not do PCI passthrough unless you had IOMMU hardware. which it would appear I don't Is this the case? Am I flogging a dead horse? Thanks, Marco -- Marco van Beek ========================================== Supporting Role Ltd. Grove Park Studios, 188-192 Sutton Court Rd, London, W4 3HR

HeapAlloc vs. malloc. How does HeapAlloc work?
Hi, I am little bit interested in Wine source code. There is one thing I don't understand. How does HeapAlloc() work? Is it the same behavior as Winapi HeapAlloc()? If so then I have to check NULL value after each calling of this function, don't I? I have found this code in Wine 0.9.57: In dlls/dbghelp/stabs.c function 'static int stabs_new_include(const char* file, unsigned long

Hi all, some results from my configuration. XenServer Tools For Linux
Hi, I installed two linux VMs in XenServer 6.0, one is CentOS 5.5 and the other is Ubuntu 10.04, both of which are HVMs. I install xenserver tools many times and the packages are installed, but XenCenter keeps telling me that "Xenserver tools is not installed". Are xenserver tools of linux intended only for PV vm? I am not familiar with xenserver and need help. Thanks! Best Regards,

Intel NIC HW counters are reporting receiving packets but the same is not reaching the guest HVM. My NIC uses MSI-X to report packets to SW. which should be received by Xen

Re: How much is involved in porting a new OS to Xen fullvirtualizaiton?
Well, first, you''re going to have a lot of trouble getting anyone to touch SCO these days. With all the legal stuff they''ve pulled over the past couple of years I''m sure that no one is going to be eager to get in their way on purpose. What issues are you having getting SCO to run under XEN? Theoretically, with XEN HVM support, you ought to be able to run just about
