DRBD, Xen, HVM and live migration
Hi, I want to combine all the above mentioned technologies. The Linbit pages warn not to use the drbd: VBD with HVM DomUs. This page however: http://publications.jbfavre.org/virtualisation/cluster-xen-corosync-pacemaker-drbd-ocfs2.en (thank you Jean), simply puts two DRBD devices in dual primary mode and starts Xen DomUs while pointing to the DRBD devices with phy: in the DomU config files.

PCI passthrough issue
Hello, I''m facing a strange issue with network card PCI passthrough on my openwrt test domU. - With network PCI passthrough, DNS lookup failed for some domains (exemple, google.com) but not for other (free.fr my ISP, or my domain jbfavre.org). I can ping an IP address without any problem. - Starting domU as a "normal" (ie without PCI passthrough), no problem. As far as I can

Xen on two node DRBD cluster with Pacemaker
Hi all, could somebody point me to what is considered a sound way to offer Xen guests on a two node DRBD cluster in combination with Pacemaker? I prefer block devices over images for the DomU''s. I understand that for live migration DRBD 8.3 is needed, but I''m not sure as to what kind of resource agents/technologies are advised (LVM,cLVM, ...) and what kind of DRBD config

Configuring Xen + DRBD + Corosync + Pacemaker
Hi everyone, I need some help to setup my configuration failover system. My goal is to have a redundance system using Xen + DRBD + Corosync + Pacemaker On Xen I will have one virtual machine. When this computer has network down, I will do a Live migration to the second computer. The first configuration I will need is a crossover cable, won''t I? It is really necessary? Ok, I did it. eth0

Network isolation - PCI passthrough question
Hello, I thinking about using PCI passthrough to dedicated a domU as firewall. I understand PCI passthrough concept. When done, my domU will see network card and the dom0 won''t any more. So I''ll be able to filter all trafic from outside, since it will go through network domU. Then, how will I be able to connect other domU (and maybe dom0) to the network domU ? In a normal way,

PXE boot post-install-script example?
Hi I am trying to get a Xen machine fully configured using PXE, and I am able to see Xen pull the script I specify from my webserver, however I tried making it a simple bash script and it didn''t seem to execute. Can anyone shed some light on an example post-install-script? And particulars about when it is run, ie is it run after the reboot, is it run as root, how can I get debug output

[LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
I switched my Common Lisp compiler to use MCJIT on the weekend and ran into a weird problem compiling one particular function. It crashes with an EXC_BAD_ACCESS error in MCJIT::finalizeObject when calling processFDE. The weird part is that the function does not appear to do anything special and I've whittled it down to the minimum size that still causes the crash. If I remove even one

[LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
Hi Christian, Thanks for sharing this. Yaron Keren has been investigating some problems in the EH frame registration code recently, and I think this may be related. It at least sounds similar to the type of variations in behavior based on code size that Yaron was seeing. -Andy -----Original Message----- From: llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu [mailto:llvmdev-bounces at cs.uiuc.edu] On Behalf Of

AW: debian Lenny -> Squeeze domU mdX software raidmigration - failed to assemble arrays
Hi, to make transitions more convenient, I've done this by using uuid instead of device names. If you ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid inside your domU, you'll see something like lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 5. Mai 07:38 39a2a64b-0716-47ad-92f4-a7437cac54ee -> ../../sda2 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 5. Mai 07:38 e8b97b59-a790-417c-8231-fe8da8b6e6ee -> ../../sda1 In /etc/fstab inside the domU,

static route problem
Hi I''m using shorewall 2.1.10 on redhat 9 .. The machine have 2 network card eth1 inside network and eth0 internet(router) I define a static route on the linux system ( route add..) to another router But when I try to ping to the host/router I get "fw kernel : shorewall: forward: reject: in eth1 out=eth1...." [LLVMdev] A weird, reproducable problem with MCJIT
Hi, I had similar problems with EH in ELF in RTDyldMemoryManager::registerEHFrames() calling __register_frame(). I'm not sure these problems are related to this problem since your crash happens in RuntimeDyldMachO::registerEHFrames() in its own processFDE (there are two functions named processFDE(), one in RuntimeDyldMachO.cpp and one in RTDyldMemoryManager.cpp) *before*

[LLVMdev] How to run LLVM3.6.1 on OS X (Yosemite, Xcode6.4) OR how to link bitcode generated by OS X clang with LLVM3.6.1
I’m developing a Common Lisp compiler for OS X and Linux that uses LLVM as its backend and interoperates with C++. It’s at: github.com/drmeister/clang I need to compile one C++ source file containing small, intrinsic functions into an LLVM-IR bitcode file and link it with bitcode generated by my compiler running LLVM3.6.1. I have been unable to do this for more than a year and I was hoping

[LLVMdev] How to run LLVM3.6.1 on OS X (Yosemite, Xcode6.4) OR how to link bitcode generated by OS X clang with LLVM3.6.1
Thank you. I found a partial answer to the problem (1), namely “how to run Clang compiled with LLVM3.6.1 on OS X Yosemite/Xcode6.4" It’s a combination of -isysroot and -resource-dir I’m using these compiler options: "/Users/meister/Development/externals-clasp/build/release/bin/clang" -v \ -resource-dir

BTX halted on boot
Hi We are experiencing a problem with one of our FreBSD 6.2 machines. The machine has been running fine for months until we had to reboot it. Now it doesn't boot anymore. After the boot loader we get what looks like a register dump: FreeBSD/i386 boot Default: 0:ad(0,a)heap boot: /boot/kernel/kernel\ int=0000000e err=00000002 efl=00010086 eip=c042426a eax=c06da7a8 ebx=c06da7a0

hang on exit - bug or no bug?
The hang on exit has become quite an issue in my organization(Sun and HP hosts). I see this note in the changelog which indicates that there will not be a fix for this problem: 20001129 - (djm) Back out all the serverloop.c hacks. sshd will now hang again if there are background children with open fds. Also, I am aware of the workaround as noted in the FAQ. However this workaround is not

Bug#671750: Configuration of domain save/restore broken
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-5 Severity: grave Hi, Between 4.1.2-3 and 4.1.2-5, the sanity checks on the variables defined in /etc/default/xendomains (XENDOMAINS_SAVE, XENDOMAINS_RESTORE, etc.) was lost. I can't check exactly when because there's no Vcs defined for this package. 4.1.2-3 had in /etc/init.d/xendomains for restore: if [ "$XENDOMAINS_RESTORE" =

Inlining with the ORC JIT
Is it possible to inline functions compiled from C++ code into generated code that is fed, Module by Module, into the ORC JIT? I'd like to add a Module compiled from C++ code into the JIT and then as I add later modules, functions from the first module are inlined in the later ones. I already do this for file compilation/linking in my Common Lisp compiler “Clasp” (github.com/drmeister/clasp
