XCP, XCCS, xe, and XVP, random thoughts
Well, that was a lot of alphabet soup acronyms :).
I''ve just been thinking about the claim in a prior post that using the
xe cli with XCP abnormally increases the XCP server load. The only way I
could see this happening is to be running xe from the servers command
line. I use xe extensively to do the grunt work of XCCS (Xen Cloud
Control System). I don''t see the loading

A problem about pre-build xvpappliance - how to use the xvpweb in it?
Hi:
I have imported the pre-build xvpappliance VM on the XCP server.
I started the xvpappliance successfully(I have added a XCP pool and xvp
service started),
after some configuration, I entered the xappliance VM console.
But I am still confused, I suppose the xvpappliance VM just like a PC
client to manage the whole
XCP pool via xvpweb. It is right? But how can I achieve this

Xen with Broadcom Tigon3 BCM5704
Greetings all:
Loading Xen up on a server with 2 of these GbE adapters. I''m using
the first one as the main interface and the second one for the NFS
storage network.
When things are running, I can see xenbr0 and pif shows it attached
to eth0, although I don''t see any peth0 or vif0.0. I can connect to the
main address on the machine without any problem.
The trouble

What is the maximum number of resource pools allow in Xen Cloud Platform?
Hi,
I am interested to know the maximum number of resource pools that allow in
Xen Cloud Platform. I cannot find any maximum number indicated in the
documentation.
Thank you,

XCP NFS problems
Greetings all!
I''ve just made the jump from standalone Xen to Xen Cloud Platform.
I''ve been impressed with everything about XCP except trying to get an
NFS SR to work. Backend system is FreeBSD with an NFSv3 server.
I can create the SR and XCP creates it on the NFS server but the PBD
will not plug and leaves the SR unusable. xe pbd-plug gives a return

XCP 0.1.1, problem creating CentOS/RHEL 5.4 VMs, fixed!
Greetings all:
In virgin XCP 0.1.1 (right from the install iso), a working
CentOS/RHEL 5.4 VM cannot be created, despite there being a template for
it. The VM can be created without error but attempting to start it
results in a "no output from bootloader" message"
The cause of this is a missing file in the 0.1.1 distribution. Download

XCP 0.1.1
I knew it couldn''t possibly go right.
First attempt at upgrading a 0.1.0 host trashed the networking config
majorly. In defense of 0.1.1, I did have an odd networking config (since
XCP had problems with the built in Broadcom ports, I pif-forgetted them
and let Linux handle them. If it weren''t for the mutant network config,
I bet 0.1.1 would have done ok.
More seriously,

lua not working on syslinux-6.03-pre18
I've upgraded from syslinux-4.05 to syslinux-6.03-pre18 (pre11 was the same)
and am having some issues getting lua.c32 to work. I'm using lpxelinux.0
if that's relevant.
My boot file and the contents of default.lua are below. As you can see they
are fantastically simple. Essentially I'm just using lua to put the results
of ipappend in the right place on the command line.

XCP, Xen Cloud Control System version 0.5.5.2 released!
Greetings all:
Sorry I''ve been a bit behind schedule, I''ve just released XCCS
version 0.5.5.2 for both XCCS-VA (virtual appliance) and XCCS-SA
(standalone) packages!
This is a major upgrade for XCCS-SA, adding a load of new features
that debuted in XCCS-VA. For XCCS-VA, this is mostly a bug fix release
to to correct the host evacuate and shutdown functions for an

XCP, XCCS, Xen Cloud Control System virtual appliance builder 0.5.5.2 released
Greetings all!
I''ve been a bit behind on the Xen Cloud Control System road map due
to being being highly overloaded so I thought I''d release a Christmas
present :).
XCCS-B (builder) is a complete package of XCCS plus a set of scripts
to quickly and easily build the equivalent of an XCCS virtual appliance
(XCCS-VA) on a fresh CentOS/Red Hat virtual or physical machine.

XCP, just a quick poll
Greetings all:
Just a quick poll, is anyone out there still running 0.1.1 or 0.5
RC1 of XCP? Just checking to see if I can dump the bug workarounds out
of the next version of XCCS :).

XCP 0.1.1,0.5RC1 bug, part 2
Ouch, this bug is worse than I thought. If there are VMs on the host
that prevent evacuation, doing host-get-vms-which-prevent-evacuation
--minimal returns nothing but Error, no list of the offending VMs or
reason.
This is an important command but from a scripting standpoint, the
screwed up output makes it pretty darned near useless.

XCP HA disabled? Xen Maybe?
I have two systems loaded with XCP 0.1.1 and it works well. XenMotion, Live Migrations and automated installs are fantastic.
I am wondering whty the field for ha-enabled is read-only...
Is there any way I can change this so I can enable HA on XCP? So when a host fails the other hosts takes all the guests.
What would the best way to accomplish what I need?
Would XCP be the answer or straight

[XCP] weight/cap VCPU-params ignores during migration
Good day.
I found that XCP ignores VCPU-params (weight and cap) after VM live migration, as well, as those parameters ignored if changed on running VM.
May I as someone with xcp cloud nearly check this bug? Thank you.

I don''t see in the XCP or OpenXenManager documentation where I can do a XenMotion/live relocation of a running VM.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
