Unable to create WinXP DomU
Hi,
Since a week or two I can''t create two of my three WinXP DomU''s anymore, the
third one starts just fine.
This is the basic error message I get:
# xm create WinXPViaLilaGeert
Using config file "./WinXPViaLilaGeert".
Error: Creating domain failed: name=WinXPViaLilaGeert
There is little information in this error message. /var/log/xen/xend.log has a

HVM or PV
Hi All,
Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am walking into someone else''s xen
install, and don''t have access to the host os at the moment. How do I tell
just from a domU (with Ubuntu) if it is PV or HVM.
I have looked through the forums and documentation and it seems to be very
easy to figure this out from dom0, but unfortunately that isn''t possible at

How to Backup and Restore MBR within Logical Volumes?
Hi All,
I have several Xen virtual machines within logical volumes using LVM2. I did
not use disk images for performance reasons.
Conventionally, if I want to clone my virtual machines, I have to dd the LV
to an image file. But this consumes a lot of time and harddisk space.
So, instead of doing that, I want to use losetup and kpartx with my logical
volumes, which contain operating systems of

Can't boot ubuntu domU after installation
Hi!
I''ve recently installed Xen on a laptop with Ubuntu 12.04.
I''ve followed this guide (except for changing amd64 to i386):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Xen
I''m using LVM filesystem and I have managed to install Ubuntu as PV guest
os, according to the "manually creating PV guest OS" in the guide.
But, when the installation of the guest OS is done, I

Bug#493856: xen-utils-3.2-1: i386 Dom0 cannot load Debian 2.6.26 amd64 kernel bzImage
Package: xen-utils-3.2-1
Version: 3.2.1-2
Severity: important
Hi,
I set the severity to important as it seems that current xen tools
does not allow to load amd64 Debian kernel in DomU.
I also put the debian-kernel ML in CC as I'm not sure the problem
comes from xen tools or the kernel itself.
Here is my configuration:

AW: Re: [Xen-devel] 2.6.34.7 with SUSE patches: Invalid Kernel
Jup, 64 Bit Kernel build is done now and works, but 32 Bit kernel config is different, as
I use 64 Bit in Dom0 and DomU, 32 Bit only in DomU incl. DomU with DVB etc. XEN
options are the same, it''s only the selection of drivers...
Andrew, any idea?
Boris, do you know a safe way to create a 64 Bit config out of a 32 Bit one? Sorry, I am
not so used to kernel building...
BR,
Carsten.

xen3 domU on xen4 dom0
Greetings!
Trying to to run a xen3 domU on a xen4 dem0 I run into problems.
The xen server ''XEN1''(dom0) is openSUSE-11.3 (kernel 2.6.34) and xen-4.0.1.
With qemu I created an image ''M08.raw'' from the SUSE-9.3
(kernel 2.6.11) and XEN-3.0 installation CD''s.
The XEN modules were included in the installation.
In M08.raw/boot I configured grub/menu.lst:

Problems with pyGRUB
Hi,
I am running Xen 3.3.1 built from Source with Debian Lenny as the dom0.
Everything works fine so far except pyGRUB. So, what I did was install
CentOS (latest version ... 5.3 or something) using qemu to a LVM logical
volume and from within CentOS I installed the Xen Kernel. Now pyGRUB shows
me 3 grub entries:
1) CentOS (2.6.18-128.1.10.el5xen) <= xen hypervisor
2) CentOS

GPLPV or other drivers for win2k8r2?
Hi. I have some new 64bit Windows 2008 R2 domU''s running on
SLES11/xen_3.4.2. What is everyone using to get 1gb network performance
on win2k8? I''ve used GPLPV on win2k3, but I see you have to sign the
drivers yourself for 64bit. Maybe that process isn''t difficult, I only
glance at the link from gplpv''s page.
What is everyone using? GPLPV is about the only

ovirt install : several issues
I installed ovirt-agent on a fresh fedora 11 install (not in a virtual machine). The only thing I modified prior to installation was /etc/resolv.conf in order to be able to yum update and install the ovirt packages via yum (from the ovirt repo), and /etc/ntp.conf to get the correct time from the NTP server of my network. I also disabled NetworkManager via chkconfig.
I used all the options for

Bare-metal Xen on ARM boot
Hi,
I was wondering if there is any documentation on how to write a bare metal
application for Xen. I don''t need to parse the device tree and such yet, a
simple booting "Hello World" would be fine :-)
We wrote one and when trying to boot we get ( this was an uncompressed
binary, no image):

ovirt node 1.0.3 nfs error
Good Morning,
I have successfully deployed Ovirt manager and 1 node (1.03 version).
All networks interfaces work fine.
When I try to configure a NFS storage, the web interface gives a
timeout agent error and on the node in /var/log/messages I read the
following lines:

GPL PV drivers for Windows 0.9.11-pre12
I''ve just uploaded 0.9.11-pre12 of the GPL PV drivers for Windows.
Since -pre10 (and -pre11) I''ve fixed a heap of crashes that were
plaguing xennet under load, and also rewritten the interrupt/event
distribution logic to improve performance.
Under windows 2003 I can now get network speeds of 1-2Gbit/second TX and
600Gbit/second RX, which is considerably better than I was
