Xen virtual interface settings
I''ve been mucking with xen for quite a while but recently started focusing on custom network setups. I''d like to be able to create VMs on the fly from a base image and set network settings in each without booting the image up. This strange setup is for a classroom environment. At the beginning of the quarter the instructor would run a script that creates all the

OpenSolaris domU on RedHat Linux dom0
Hi, I''m trying to create OpenSolaris (2008.11) domU on RedHat Linux dom0. I''m using a file backed VBD. I used the iso image to first launch and install OpenSolaris into the file VBD. Once that process is complete, I''m trying to run it using the config file below: name = ''opensolaris'' vcpus = 1 memory = "512" vif =

Add independent interface from domU to internal bridge?
Hi, I have what I believe is an elementary problem, but I haven''t yet figured out the solution. Within my domU host, I have a bridge named "net1". There is no routing performed between the real LAN and this bridge, intentionally. I have a virtual machine that connects to the bridge. It seems to work fine, (in fact I have several and I can bring them all up and they can

I need to installa a streaming server for live videos and for video on demand. My choice is red5. Do you think I can use a xen virtual machine to run a streaming service? Or it is better not to virtualize? Sorry for my bad english. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Xen and Enomaly
Hi list, Right now I''ve to find some graphic (or web!) interface to administrate our new data center infrastructure who will be running over Xen. I''ve been googling around to find something, and looks like Enomaly is a good choice. Can anybody give me some feedback about this? Or maybe recommend another front-end interface? Thanks in advance. Boris.

Need to migrate a centos image from xen source to xenserver
Have an Onapp system we are migrating away from to xenserver and it uses Xen source images I believe. I had no problem moving the MS Windows servers using the xenconvert utility, but not being a linux guy the conversion process of moving files from Onapp to xenserver is not clear. I think the files on Onapp are .img files, but they don''t use extensions from what I can tell when they

Xen in Linux distributions
Hello, I have been using Xen for many years now. I have mainly used it on Ubuntu and Debian, but I have also tried it on CentOS 5. Most of my machines have been installed a few years back. Then there seemed to be good packages for most distributions and a lot of nice examples on how to get it working. Now that I am trying to install a new server with the latest version of my favorite

RHEL 5.5 Xen fixes
Hello, RHEL 5.5 has been released, and it contains many Xen related fixes. Here's the most important of the them.. fixing a dom0 caching bug which could cause domU disk corruption when the domU disk was accessed from dom0 after the domU was shutdown. Most people noticed this bug when pygrub used wrong (cached) information. "pygrub uses cached and eventually outdated grub.conf, kernel

This script modify the IPADDR line in the following files : - /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 - /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth0 - /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/ifcfg-eth0 Then I reboot the VM and it
