VTd not showing PCI device in VM
I''m having trouble actually seeing a PCI device in my VMs. I''ve resolved several of my issues using previous posts and using the VTdHowTo wiki page. I have both VT and VTd BIOS options enabled. I have pciback hiding the devices and xm can list and assign the devices to VMs. I don''t see the PCI devices in my VMs though. I have tried a windows and a Linux vm, without

Dell Lattitude E5430 -- split screen
Dear All, I installed CentOs on a brand new Dell Lattitude E5430. I did a minimal install, then did a "yum groupinstall Desktop" and I installed xorg-x11-drv-intel.i686. Also, I installed a i686 CentOs on a 64bit system, thinking because it has 4Gb or ram, It makes no difference. The screen is split top to bottom on the left hand side. This was quickly solved by adding

SATA vs RAID5 vs VMware
Hello, I have strange behaviour on a server that I can't get a handle on. I have a reasonably powerful server running VMware server 1.0.4-56528. It has a RAID5 build with mdadm on 5 SATA drives. Masses of ram and 2 XEON CPUs. But it stutters. Example : fire up vi, press and keep finger on i. After filling 2-3 lines, the display is stopped for 2-12 seconds. Then they continue. This

Xen sound card for Windows DomU
I am using xen3.3.1, I added following 2 options in the DomU config file which is a Win2k3 server(64bit). When I start the DomU, it shows a multimedia audio controller detected, but no driver suitable. I am using the PV driver (Xen <http://www.meadowcourt.org/downloads/Xen%20PV%20Drivers%200.9.12-pre13.exe> PV Drivers 0.9.12-pre13.exe) audio=1 soundhw=''es1370''

gplpv driver signature problem under win2k8_64bit
Hi, I am at a complete loss of ideas here: I have a - xen3.3.1 hypervisor compiled from source with - dom0 being 2.6.26-1-xen-amd64 kernel from debian/lenny repository with - windows 2008 64bit as hvm guest. I use the gplpv drivers 0.10.0.69 from James Harper. The included files (xenpci.sys and xennet.sys) are apparently test-signed, so applying test-signing as boot option does enable

I''ve a problem with managing power consumption on Intel Nehalem CPU. I''ve installed Xen 3.4 on our Dell PowerEdge T610 system on a Ubuntu 9.04 distribution. I recompiled the kernel 2.6.30rc5. I just pulled xen-unstable.hg because nothing else supports my CPU yet. Something like xm info | grep -i KEY-REGULAR-EXPRESSION xm dmesg | grep -i KEY-REGULAR-EXPRESSION What line I should look for? And if it''s really built with it, how can I be sure, that Xen has successfully initialized VT-d hardware? I have read [1] and the lists archives

Xen 3.4.2 DomU Network Issues
I''ve got a new system with Dual Quad Core Intel E5520 processors and Intel 82576 NICs built on the motherboard (this is a Supermicro Nehalem based blade). I''m running Xen 3.4.2, but I''ve also tried 3.4.1 and had the same problem. Dom0''s network works flawlessly, but the DomU systems all have network issues. Whenever they transmit large packets, it is as if
