The debian dom0 64 bits kernel crashes at boot time
Hi, I just wanted to give a bit of feedback here. i have tried the Xen amd64 kernel from the kernel team and it just crashes with a stack dump on my laptop (thinkpad t500, that is a quite new stuff but will be a common thing very soon I beleive). Then I have tried the kernel 2.6.27 from the Xen repository that you can find here: http://xenbits.xensource.com/ext/linux-2.6.27-xen.hg It's

How to compile the debian xen kernel?
Hi! I would have love to participate in the dev of the Debian Xen kernel, as my company (GPLHost) is quite involved in Xen, Debian and hosting. I was quite happy to see that there is now support for dom0 kernel in Lenny. Now the only thing is that I didn't find the way you guys are using to compile the Debian Xen kernel, and didn't find any doc about it either. Where can I find such doc,

[Xen-devel] Crash during boot in Debian lenny default dom0 kernel (2.6.26-2-xen-686) / bugfix patches
Hello, The email (thread) below from xen-devel mailinglist indicates the changesets that should fix the bug that causes the lenny 2.6.26 xen kernel to crash on newer xen hypervisors. The workaround for this bug has been to use pci=nomsi on the dom0 kernel cmdline, but it would be better to apply the actual fix to the xen kernel in lenny. More information on xen-devel (archives). -- Pasi

dom0 hangs when rebooting debian lenny domU
Dear all, I have a reproducible issue with centos54 dom0 and debian lenny domU using pygrub. As far as I enter "shutdown -r now" in the running Debian Lenny DomU the whole system hangs. Keyboard is dead, network is dead and no more logging. Ending up in a hardware reset of the box. I was able to reproduce this 3 times. Restarting with xm reboot debian50 works without problems. Is there

Dom0 crashes on debian Lenny
Hi maintainers, I'm writing you because there's a bug in the kernel package affects specially xen. Although it's assigned to the kernel team, the bug affect to the people that use the xen version of the kernels and the hypervisor. The bug is #524571 and probably it's a xen upstream bug. I would ask you if you could look on it, or ask to upstream. I'm asking it because to

I was giving a try to Debian Xen packages (it looks very promising by the way ; I just happen to love the ? new ? grub which handles xen images, for instance!) ; I have a box which boots correctly with xen-hypervisor-3.0-i386_3.0.2+hg9697-2 and a 2.6.16 dom0 kernel, but crashes when trying to boot linux-image-2.6.17-2-xen-686_2.6.17-7 The result is the same on two boxen (my Pentium M laptop and a

Xen (dom0) Kernels in Lenny
Hi, Freeze is coming closer, and it starts more and more to look like there will be no (complete, especially lacking dom0 Kernel patches) Xen support in lenny if nothing changes, like: 2) Some people come together and try to work out the needed patches for the newest Kernels and make them available in Debian. (I don't know what's the newest available patchset, would be interesting to

Proposed Wiki Edit - /HowTos/Laptops/IBM/Thinkpad-T43
Hi all; I just installed CentOS 5.6 on my IBM ThinkPad T43 and would like to add my experiences such far. The laptop I have is a different model than the previous editor's laptop (notably, it has an ATI Mobility Radeon X300, which required special drivers from elrepo, as opposed to the Intel graphics chip in the previous editor's laptop) and I think this bears mentioning in addition to

I followed the directions for adding a laptop page, but I was never promoted to enter any information after choosing the laptop template. I did login with my username first as well. The page would

Debian Lenny packages for 3.3.1?
My Dom0 is setup very minimally as a Debian 5/Lenny. I see the current Xen package is 3.2-1, and I''d like to get the current 3.3.1 for the better VT support for HVMs. Does anyone out there have packages for this, as I''d rather not bulk up my Dom0 with the whole GCC toolchain necessary to compile 3.3.1. Thanks in advance. -- Chris ''Xenon'' Hanson, omo sanza
