unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with
current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them.
Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a
bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover
driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package)
that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now

GPLPV drivers suspected to hinder live migration to different CPU type
Hi,
I''ve noticed that on a Xen cluster with three nodes (two E5620 CPUs and
one E5140 CPU) live migration works perfectly in between to two E5620
nodes, but fails to and from the E5140. The error message is about a HVM
context not being able to be set.
I strongly suspect the use 238 GPPVL drivers, but I cannot uninstall
them at this point because someone else needs the server.

GPLPV 0.10.0.69 Blue Screen 0x0000007B
Trying to install them on Xen 3.4.0, Intel E5345 Processors, Server 2008
64bit. I get the BSoD on boot with the 0x0000007B stop message. I''ve
got a bunch of 2003 32bits running on the same host with the 0.10.0.69
drivers and those are totally happy. I tried the boot once with NOGPLPV
idea mentioned in another thread, that didn''t do the trick.
Ideas anyone?

Ubuntu HVM installation is very slow
Hi Everyone,
I am trying my hands on xen under Solaris SXCE build 113. The machine has
the following configuration:
2 Quad Core Xeon CPUs
16 GB RAM
Solaris SXCE b113
4 disks - 2 mirrors x 2 stripes under ZFS
The problem is that xen HVM is very slow. I am using the following command
to create an Ubuntu 9.0.4 test vm.
virt-install -n test1 -r 2048 --vcpus=2 -f /vdatapool/data/test1.img -s 50

GPLPV, clock drift and PVUSB in Windows XP HVM
1. Shouldn''t the GPLPV drivers take care of the (bad) clock drift I''m experiencing in my Windows XP HVM? Or is there some other way around this problem that I haven''t been able to find on Google? How can I tell if the GPLPV drivers are active? I''ve added the /gplpv switch to the boot.ini file and the virtual NIC is definitely using the GPLPV version but other

GPLPV 0.10.55 net misbehaviour
I''m using W2K2 32bit on a 3.2.1 Lenny-amd64 host. While the pv disk
driver works as expected, I encounter problems with the network driver.
I tried several installation scenarios, all with the same result.
My test looks like this:
I install gplpv, but without letting the networking driver install.
After reboot I RTL8139 ist still active and working, and gplpv devices
manage the disks.

[GPLPV] Xennet device issues on Win2k3 x32 DomU/Disabling just one PV device
Hi there.
I have been dealing with a conundrum off and on with a VPS of mine. Windows
2003 Standard 32 bit on a Xen HVM instance. Been trying to get the GPLPV
drivers working to help boost performance but always seem to run into one
major issue: The PV network device looks like it works but actual
connectivity is non-existant. Everything else in the GPLPV driver suite
works fine.

Strange Problem with Windows GPLPV Drivers
I have a strange problem with these drivers.
I have a host that has 31 VM''s running on it, all windows. They are running
the same template, which has the latest GPLPV drivers installed. The problem
occurred today when I went to add the 32nd VM, again from the same template.
Now when the VM boots up I get a BSOD.
I tried a different template to confirm that it was not template

GPLPV 0.11.0.238 and Windows 2008 R2 requiring extra reboot
James,
I am running Windows 2008 R2 on Xen that is packaged with CentOS 5.4. I
installed gplpv_Vista2008x64_0.11.0.238.msi using the falling steps:
1. Turn on testsigning
2. Reboot
3. Install gplpv_Vista2008x64_0.11.0.238.msi
4. Install process requests a reboot at the end.
5. At the end of the subsequent boot, there is a prompt for a reboot
again.

BSOD with GPLPV windows drivers
Hello.
I have encountered a problem with GPLPV drivers for windows.
It is similar (if not the same) as
http://old-list-archives.xen.org/archives/html/xen-users/2011-02/msg00709.html
Host is running 14 virtual machines with Windows XP. When I''m trying to
start 15-th windows VM it crashes with code 0x0000007b.
Booting to safe mode or with /nogplpv works ok.
15-th VM works fine if

GPLPV xennet bsod when vcpu>15
Hello,
I installed the signed drivers from
http://wiki.univention.de/index.php?title=Installing-signed-GPLPV-drivers and
I ran into a BSOD on a Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise domU with a
large number of vcpu''s. The BSOD is related to xennet.sys.
After some trials I found that it runs fine up to 15 cores. From 16 or
more, the BSOD kicks in when booting the domU.
The hardware (4 times

tap:aio
I have never been able to get tap:aio devices running. When I try it in
a Linux PV domain, it says:
XENBUS: Waiting for devices to initialise: 295s...
And they don''t work in my GPLPV drivers, which is the problem I am
trying to solve, but I''d like to see them work under Linux first.
Is there anything extra I need to do? I have loaded the xenblktap module

Windows 2008 R2 64 bit BSoD
Hello.
I''m trying to get the lastest GPLPV binary (rev 238) working on an
Ubuntu Server host with Xen 4, but I''ve got some problems. The guest
is a 64 bit Windows 2008 R2.
After enabling test mode and rebooting, installing and rebooting again
(with /NOGPLPV) I can see all the Xen devices, but two (out of three)

Disabling driver signature enforcement for Windows DomUs
Hi all,
After loading the GplPV drivers for Windows Server 2008, I wanted to
get rid of the annoying F8 option when rebooting each time. I looked
at Ready Driver Plus, which seemed to work, but was only a
workaround. It also seemed to kill my terminal connection from Dom0.
After some research, I found another way:

GPL PV Intermitent Network Problems
Well, I seem to have developed a strange issue with the GPL PV drivers
in Windows. I''m running Xen 3.2 on SLES 10 SP2 and running some Windows
XP HVM domUs. Most (12-15) of my Windows machines work just fine. Two
of them, though, have started exhibiting a strange behavior with
intermittent network connectivity. Basically, the network starts up and
connects initially. After some

PoD, 4.2, and current/maximum reservation
A user has pointed out a problem with GPLPV under Xen 4.2 when using PoD. I''m using the difference between XENMEM_maximum_reservation and XENMEM_current_reservation to tell me how much I should balloon down to account for PoD, but when the user has ballooned down to 1G (from 4Gb or 8GB), GPLPV logs the following:
13005008825593: XenPCI XENMEM_maximum_reservation = 262400

gplpv: re-enabling the nic adapter removes it
I guess I have stumbled upon a bug in gplpv drivers.
If you try to re-enable an nic adapter after disabling it, it just
hides out of blue. And you have to reboot.
Latest version of gplpv drivers and Windows 2008 R2 here.
Anyone else noticed the same issue?
I wonder if this is related to hot-plugging something like
