Question about time measure in Guest Windows
Hi:
I intend to use RDTSC to make some time tests in Xen guest WinXP. However, from Intel Developer''s Manual I noticed that RDTSC will cause VMExit if "RETSC exiting" VM-Execution control field is 1. So I wonder: How to query VM-Execution control field in a programmable way?
BTW: On Intel Developer''s Manual, it mentioned a method using IA32_VMX_PROCBASED_CTLS MSR,

Stumped on methods
I have been trying to write a "proper" print method for a package, and have
almost gotten what I want. From a reading of the relevant section in R
Extensions and the introduction to methods, I've stuck the whole business
into a character object and used:
NextMethod("print")
However, instead of not printing quotes and displaying the usual
representation of the string,

[PATCH v2] vhost: Include linux/uio.h instead of linux/socket.h
memcpy_fromiovec is moved from net/core/iovec.c to lib/iovec.c.
linux/uio.h provides the declaration for memcpy_fromiovec.
Include linux/uio.h instead of inux/socket.h for it.

check-gnu-efi.sh: print the output of build-gnu-efi.sh
I really think we should not take chances;
Syslinux source should include (probably as an optional download tarball)
the gnu-efi used to build the particular Syslinux version.

Samab 4.11.2, 4.10.10 and 4.9.15 for rhel7/centos7 rpms
Hi everyone,
I've posted some rpm builds of samba 4.11.2, 4.10.10 and 4.9.15 for
RHEL/Centos 7.x (currently 7.7). The 4.11 rpms use the python3 and
python3-devel rpms introduced in the standard RHEL/Centos repos at the
same time as the 7.7 version.
Comments and/or testing feedback would be most welcomed.

[PATCH] Proposal for a pacifier option with mkdiskimage
Hi,
i too played with mkdiskimage in order to get more Linux examples.
When i applied it to a real 2 GB stick with write speed 4 MB/s
i had enough time to add some pacifier code to the big zeroizer
loop. (-s does not prevent zeroizing on block device. Probably
because truncate() fails.)
My pacifier is combined with what Perl advised me when i tried
"fsync(OUTPUT);". Of course this

Syslinux 5.00-pre6: call it a beta
I think the Syslinux 5.00 branch is now at the point where I believe it
it is feature complete and should be able to replace the main Syslinux
branch.
As such, it is important that we get wider testing, and especially that
people let us know if and where it breaks. As of right now, there
aren't any known bugs...
