Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 bnx2 bridging problem
Hi,
I''ve run into the same issue as:
http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-07/msg00599.html
In that, running the network bridge script kills networking completely,
trying to ping the gateway gives me destination host unreachable.
The card is:

Hi,

Is there a solution for the problem?

drbd 8 primary/primary and xen migration on RHEL 5
Greetings.
I''ve reviewed the list archives, particularly the posts from Zakk, on
this subject, and found results similar to his. drbd provides a
block-drbd script, but with full virtualization, at least on RHEL 5,
this does not work; by the time the block script is run, the qemu-dm has
already been started.
Instead I''ve been simply musing the possibility of keeping the drbd

Dell 2950 III for Xen virtualization
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to see if anyone has experience running Xen on:
Dell 2950 III
2 x Quad 2.0 Ghz 1333Mhz FSB
32 GB DDR2 (8x4GB)
2 Disk Perc RAID 1 (7200 RPM SAS)
Broadcom Dual Gigabit Ethernet LOM & TOE
The requirements of each VM are not that high (and are all identical).
I just want to run remote desktop and 1 other application at any
given time (either a web based IE

iSCSI offload with Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5709.
Hello all.
We recently purchased HP Proliant DL380 G7 server and also a HP Lefthand
P4500 G2 24TB iSCSI box.
The server itself has Quad Ethernet based on the BCM5709 Chipset from
Broadcom (NetXtreme II).
My main question is about iSCSI offload mechanism, as iSCSI itself is
pretty new to me
but I have gotten a good hold on it tho.
I have managed to setup and configured our Lefthand box into

RESOLVED: Debian Xen + Broadcom NetXtreme II (IBM x3655 7985-AC1)
I have a new x3655 IBM and whenever the /etc/xen/scripts/network-bridge
script starts, the ethernet would no longer work. This post isn''t about
the cause, but the fix. I did a lot of tcpdumps and Googling, but I''ll
spare you that. All they do is prove that yes, there is an issue. :)
I tried Debian 4.0 i386/amd64 and Ubuntu 7.04 Server i386/amd64 and they
all exhibit the

broadcom 802.3ad
Does anyone have some tips for setting up Broadcom's 802.3AD support
or just getting their driver compiled / installed?
First off, I noticed redhat claims the broadcom bcm5708 driver has
been added to the rhel4 kernel. But I don't see /proc/net/nicinfo
which broadcom claims the driver creates when it's successfully
initialized.
So, I'm trying to build the driver based on the

Xen and iSCSI - options and questions
Hello,
I have a small Xen farm of 8 dom0 servers with 64 virtual machines running para-virtualized and this has been working great. Unfortunately, I''ve hit a limit: my iSCSI hardware supports only 512 concurrent connections and so I''m pretty much at the limit. (Wish I would have seen that problem sooner!)
Of course, 87% of those connections are idle-- but necessary because I

Centos 6.4, bnx2 in promiscuous mode does not see packets
Hi,
I hope someone can help me, I cannot seem to get a system's ethernet
interface to correctly work in promiscuous mode...
I have a Centos 6.4 system with 2 bnx2 interfaces on it.
I have set up eth1 in promiscuous mode and am sending traffic to it
using the port mirroring configuration on a Nortel 3510-24T switch.
The switch reports that it is sending a fair amount of traffic to the

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and s yslinux 2.04
This sounds kind of like what happened with me for earlier attempts at using
syslinux. Skip using HPA's tools entirely and dd if=vmlinuz of=/dev/fd0
bs=1440k count=1 and make sure that the kernel runs from a floppy disk.
There'll be no file system or anything, but you'll make sure that your
kernel isn't faulty. If it doesn't execute, then you can avoid the

Problems with eepro100 or BroadCom NetXtreme and syslinux 2.04
Hi all!
We use pxelinux for booting a diskless Linux from whitch we install all
our systems.
But we discovered some Problems:
- With v1.75 the Kernel is fetched from the TFTP-Server with no problem,
but it gets not started on Broadcom NetXtreme with newer PXE-Bioses
- With v2.04, pxelinux even seems not to be able to fetch the kernel
from the TFTP-Server. This affects also Intel's

When Xen kernel start and it try to start eth devices, network doesn''t work.

(on DELL''s site I''ve just searched...)
Thanks,
Carlo

Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720 in the 9.1 beta
Team
I have a Dell PowerEdge R720xd, with the Broadcom NetXtreme bcm5720. I
found the following thread:
http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=31769
I find I am unable to use the NIC's (there are 4 on the server). When we
put a cable into it we get a "watchdog timeout -- resetting" error, and
the machine will pause for 5 or so seconds. IP may or may not come up
randomly.

Upgrading xen from CentOS 5.0 to 5.2
Hi,
We are planning to upgrade our dom0s from CentOS5.0 to CentOS 5.2, using the
xen version shipped with the OS : the RPM versions are respectively
3.0.3-25.el5 and 3.0.3-64.el5_2.1, I don''t know exactly to which version of
Xen it corresponds (but it should be further than 3.0.3, right ?). Kernel
versions are resp. 2.6.18-8.el5xen and 2.6.18-92.el5xen.
As we want to avoid any

Bonding and network cards
Hi,
I have been playing this weekend with bonding on PCI netcards and found
that all of netcards I have, but old 3com, do not support MII. So
bonding is not going to happen with them. Do you have some pci netcards
supporting MII successfully running on bonging?
Thanks,

help--dom0 network goes unpingable when xend starts
I installed 64-bit xen 3.1.0 (from xensource.com tarballs) on
three new machines today, using a configuration setup that I''ve
used successfully many times before. However, I encountered a
new problem.
These are Dell Poweredge 1950 servers, by the way.
