Make world problem compiling Xen 4.0.1 from source
Greetings, Xen gurus! Per the Ubuntu community documentation at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Xen#Maverick%20Notes%20(Xen%204.0.1%20pvops%20on%20Ubuntu%2010.10) I am trying to install Xen 4.0.1 from source which I got from bits.xensource.com/oss-xen/release/4.0.1/xen-4.0.1.tar.gz because apparently the ubuntu-xen-server package has broken dependencies. The instructions as provided state

''make dist'' fails at end of build while copying (cp) vmlinuz from .../arch/i386/boot/ directory
PS: A similar issue has been partially discussed in [Xen-devel] but solution is not given or not clear. http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2007-09/msg00568.html I am building Xen-3.2.0 (from source) with a ''working, known good'' xenified linux kernel from Fedora Core 8 (kernel-xen-2.6.21.7-3.fc8xen). Here is the build failure I get when I run: # make

tinc on fedora core 8
Hello, I would like to install the latest tinc software on a fedora 8 Linux box. I tried the rpm for FC3 from http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/tinc/, and I got dependency errors complaining that libcrypto.so.4 is needed. I've got openssl rpm package installed which uses a different versino of libcrypto, and creating symbolic links won't solve the issue. Then I found this article

Building Modules Against Xen Sources
I''m currently trying to build modules against the kernels created with Xen 3.0.5rc4. This used to not be such a problem, as Xen created a kernel directory and the built in it. Plain Jane, nothing fancy. I''ve noticed that somewhere since I did this (which was as recent as 3.0.4-1) the kernel build now does things a bit different. Apparently there is some sort of

having trouble booting Xen-3.1 on X86_64 Fedora Core 8 install
Hi: Any hints/pointers welcome. I am very new to Xen, I have a AMD "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+" based system on which I am running X86_64 Fedora Core 8. I have installed Xen-3.1 on it, but I can''t get Xen to boot. It seems unable to find the root volume, the kernel panics and reboots immediately so I can''t capture or write down anything and I

Contacting upstream
Hi, during the week I was thinking to send an email to the upstream development list to see if, at some point in the future, we might have the changes needed for us not to patch their package, or to reduce our patches even more... The points I was going to touch were: /etc/sysconfig: We'd like, if it's possible, to have this be configurable at build time... The default can remain like

Miredo 1.1.5
I found a src.rpm for 1.1.5-1 for fc8 (not rh8!). I was able to rebuild it on my Centos build system. The rpms are identified as 1.1.5-1.i386.rpm, no el5 or other identification was placed in the files. I don't see how to control this when you rebuild from an existing src.rpm. Interestingly the fc8 designation was lost. I also rebuild it on my fc10 system. It worked, and the rpms have

[PATCH 0 of 1 v2] tools: honour --libdir when it is passed to ./configure
I''ve removed all the LIBLEAF bits in this version, but kept passing the libfsimage plugin location via compiler command line. If there''s a better way to do this, I''m certainly open to it. But looking at it further today I think this isn''t too horrible. Matt

System seams slower with Xenified kernel and xend dies with SIG 15
Hello all, I compiled the kernel with the xen patch and I seam to have trouble with some kernel modules, like ATI''s proprietary driver. The system seams considerably slower than before, this might be because of the video drivers, or maybe the RAM alocated to dom0 (512Mb instead of it''s usual 1Gb). When I try to run xend, it dies with a SIG 15. I attached the log file. Anyone
