Xen & SELINUX: how disable in guest?
Hello all!
I try to boot the guest VM in native EL5.1 dom0.
Kernel for guest domain I took from source compiled Xen distributions
since native EL5.1 kernel being tired as guest did not see root
partition at all.
SELinux enforcing is disabled in the dom0:
> [root@mbone ~]# getenforce
> Permissive
Configuration file for guest domain has parameter to disable selinux:
> [root@mbone ~]#

GPL PV drivers for Windows - WDM version
I''m been busily converting the xenpci and xenvbd drivers from WDF to WDM
to resolve a few issues including potential licensing problems with the
Microsoft WDF and to (hopefully) allow them to function as boot drivers
when doing install and system recovery.
It was a fairly major rewrite of xenpci, and xenvbd, which are now
working (booting and running without crashes so far). I

Gutsy Xen 3.1 2.6.22-9-xen network-bridge problem
Hi,
I have a strange problem with my networking setup. I read all forums around
the world where people had similar problems, but couldn''t find a solution.
I have an Attansic L1 gigeth chip on my mainboard. This chip works OK in
stock Ubuntu Gutsy (development) 2.6.22-9-generic kernel.
When I boot into Xen, and after the bridge is created, the network stops
working. Some info:

Why does domU Windows have to be re-registered after Xen 3.1.0 dom0 upgrade
Hi all,
Just wondering if anybody knows the answer to this mystery?
I upgraded my Dom0 from Xen 3.0.4 + kernel 2.6.16.33-xen to Xen 3.1.0 +
kernel 2.6.18-xen.
After the upgrade, my domU (WInXP home edition) popped up a message saying
that it needed to be re-registered with Microsoft, owing to significant
changes in the hardware environment on which it is running. Something about

Shared File System
I have a few cases where I need to share a filesystem (Read/Write) with
multiple DomUs. Currently I use NFS to accomplish this task. However, NFS
on Fedora 7 locks up under heavy traffic from time to time, forcing a
reboot. Wouldn''t want that on the Dom0.
Any one recommend a good way of sharing a file system in read/write with
multiple DomUs?

virtual gigabit
Is there anyway to get gigabit networking for a fully virtualized
guest? I''ve tried searching for this one, but all I get are results
about gigabit networking for the host / dom0, nothing for domU.
Thanks,
Gordon

HA firewall with tinc
I have 2 firewall in HA with keepalived. Can I use active the same tinc configuration on 2 firewalls ? using tun Interface with same ip on all 2 nodes is a problem ? tun device advertise itself on the network having an IP/MAC pairs (ARP) or the IP is only used by the system internally for routing so using the same configuration is right ? so one firewall be active, the other is passive. no xenfb in Fedora 8 Xen kernel?
Hi,
I''m trying to start Xorg on a PV Fedora8 guest running 2.6.21.7 fedora stock
xen kernel, however, it seems that there''s no xenfb.ko driver included in
the .rpm package.
The only included drivers I see in /lib/modules are:
emre@xenroot:/lib/modules/2.6.21.7-3.fc8xen/kernel/drivers/xen$ ls
blkback blkfront blktap netback netfront pciback
however, if I look at the

After numerous attempts to get Xen up and running, I''m on the edge of

Release 0.9.0 of GPL PV Drivers for Windows
I''ve just put up the latest release of the GPLPV drivers for Windows.
This release involved a fairly big rewrite of the stuff that talks to
Windows as I changed from WDF to WDM. WDF is a newer framework from
Microsoft which makes it easier to write drivers as a lot of the state
management stuff is done for you. It also means shipping a great big dll
around with the drivers (note the

Lost All Win95 connections to Samba
Hi--
Last night I shut down my network for the thunderstorms going through the area,
and unplugged it all. When I booted up this morning, I had no Win95 connection
to my samba server.
My setup: Ubuntu 6.06 server, running samba 3.0.22. 3 Ubuntu workstations, 1
WinXP Pro, 2 Win95 boxes. The Ubuntu boxes mount the same directories as the
Win boxes, using cifs.
What I have tried: checking log
