peth1 not created on boot, now what?
Here is the situation.
I have a xen system with 2 drives setup in a RAID1.
I pulled one drive and put it into an identical server.
Now, when I boot up the new server, peth1 is not created.

Windows 2000 and Samba
I have a Samba server running on an AIX 4.4.3 RS6000 that has been serving
up files without problem. Recently, a pair of machines, both Windows 2000
Pro, haven't been able to gain access to any of the Samba resources on the
AIX server though they were both able to previously. Other WinNT and Win2k
machines can get to these shared resources fine, just not these two.
I haven't found anything

IP Binding
Hi all,
New to Samba here so please bear with dumb questions.
I have a server that's currently running SMB shares off of device 10.0.0.1
on a private network. It has a second device, 10.0.0.2 that I would like to
add to the device bindings for Samba. I've tried this in the smb.conf file
but it doesn't seem to work. Here's what I tried:

Hardware support
What's the current state of hardware support for Ogg Vorbis? Any decent
players out there? I have an iRiver iHP-120 and am thinking about upgrading,
any recommendations?

Does smbtar have a size limit ?
Hello. I'm trying to use smbtar/smbclient (2.0.3) to copy
an NTFS share on an NT Server, onto a Solaris 2.5 system.
The NTFS partition is 10Gb. At the 2Gb mark, the tar stops.
No errors, the file just stops. The process (smbtar) returns.
Is this a problem with Solaris 2.5 ? I believe it is, and if
I upgrade to 2.6, I can create larger tar files. However, does
anyone know if

Quotas and Netatalk Support ?
I've just noticed that --with-netatalk and --with-quotas are options to
configure for samba. Is anyone using these options on Solaris 7, and what
do they do and how well ?
I'd really like to display a users quota as "disk size" and their remaining
space as "disk free". Is --with-quotas the right way to go about this ?
I also run netatalk. Do I need to use

Android App?
One of the things that annoys me about my current mobile phone is that I
cannot use it to play music (naturally all encoded as Ogg Vorbis) as the
phone only supports proprietary formats.
I wonder if things will be any better with phones using the Android platform
- whether anyone has plans to make an open format based player for it and
whether there will be any restrictions uploading such an app

Possible Regression in setClassUnion between 3.5.0 and 3.6.0
Okay - that makes sense and thanks for looking into this! As an aside, from
R-devel's perspective would you say methods are stabilizing again or do you
foresee a lot of changes coming in the 4.* series?

Possible Regression in setClassUnion between 3.5.0 and 3.6.0
I am trying to create a class union of class unions to facilitate method
dispatch. When I execute code in the global environment, everything acts as
expected, however when I put the same code in the context of a package,
selectMethod can no longer find the correct method. This first block below
puts the code in the context of a package:
fn <- "codefile.R"

Wavelets correlation test
Hello,
I use wavethresh packages to perform wavelet analysis.
In particular, I would like to compare 2 signals (vectors) after a wavelet
decomposition. I would like to use cor.test function, but this function acts
on the entire vector values.
I plan to perform a cor.test on each level of the wavelet decomposition, say
N. So I will have at the end of a first step N results of cor.test.

Rwave cgt plot time axis problem
Dear helpers,
When I use the function cgt of library Rwave, the time axis of the plot
is always on the [0,1] scale regardless of the original time. This
happedn when I tried to reproduce some pictures of "Practical
Time-Frequency Analysis", e.g. Figure 3.5 and 3.6 using the codes
provided in the book. But the figures of the book display the real
sampling time using the same codes.

[ronvdaal@zarathustra.linux666.com: Possible security issue with FreeBSD 5.4 jailing and BPF]
This message was sent to bugtraq today:
While playing around with FreeBSD 5.4 and jailing I discovered that it was
possible to put an ethernet interface into promiscious mode from within the
jailed environment, allowing a packetsniffer to gather data not meant for
the jailed box. This also affects FreeBSD 5.3 (tested) but not FreeBSD 4.x
This can be reproduced on boxes where BPF support is

No one had any other offerings here?
I can't find anything that clears this up. And this machine can get to a
Linux based Samba server just fine.

First of all I''d like to thank everyone for making Xen so user

I''ve got a domU that I created with
