Xen and ACPI Sleep
Hi, I am currently testing Xen on my laptop and was wondering if there was any way to enable ACPI sleep so that I can resume sessions when I''m on the go. Is this possible? If so, could you please highlight how to achieve this? Thank you. -- Mathew Brown mathewbrown@fastmail.fm -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Access all of your messages and folders

Hardware compatibility - Dell Inspiron 6400 or thinkpad t60?
Hi, Since a while I am curious to buy a machine with hardware virtualization support. Finally, they start to become available here in Germany. So, I want to get such a machine. I want to buy a dell inspiron 6400 or an IBM thinkpad T60 which are said to have such a mobile processor with hardware virtualization - does anybody have experiences with these? Looking in the Hardware compatibility

HMV + linux no network interface
Hi, I have installed xen 3.0.3 on gentoo 2006.1 The machine is a laptop with amd turion x2 ML-60. I can boot into xen, xend stars normally. When I try to boot a linux livecd using HVM, there is no network interface (I used several different linux distributions). It''s not a driver problem, since the hardware is not even listed on dmesg log. While booting the livecd there is a message :

Ext3 and drbd read-only remount problem.
Hi all. I have two hosts with drbd: kmod-drbd83-8.3.8-1.el5.centos drbd83-8.3.8-1.el5.centos and kernel (CentOS 5.7): 2.6.18-308.4.1.el5 After a recent upgrade of kernel I have had two sitiuations when my ext3 filesystem on /dev/drbd0 became read-only. I've checked disks with smartctl -t long, they are ok. There are no messages with disks problems in /var/log/messages | dmesg. I've made

running puppet withput puppetmasterd
Hi, I''m pretty sure I once did some experiments with running puppet wihtout a puppertmasterd - but having a "normal" puppet manifests and modules structure in /etc/puppet. Sadly, I can''t find how to do that anymore. I know I can write plain puppet instructions in a file.pp and run them plainly - but I want the whole config as if it would reside on a server) When I

Xen and VMWare Server co-existing?
Not that VMWare have released VMWare Server as a free product i''m interested in using it where my hardware isn''t VT enabled to run non-linux environments. Ideally I''d like to run it on the Xen Dom0 environment so that I can run a mixture of Linux DomU and Windows VMWare instances. Any ideas if this is feasible, and which version of Xen I should be considering. At

Xen (dom0) Kernels in Lenny
Hi, Freeze is coming closer, and it starts more and more to look like there will be no (complete, especially lacking dom0 Kernel patches) Xen support in lenny if nothing changes, like: 2) Some people come together and try to work out the needed patches for the newest Kernels and make them available in Debian. (I don't know what's the newest available patchset, would be interesting to

where to get kernel patches
Hi, I''m always having problems finding actual kernel patches of Xen. Because I need other bleeding-edge kernel stuff, I need at least > 2.6.18, better still 2.6.19-rcs. I''m used to compile my own kernels, often using some additional patches, but for Xen...? Doesn''t fedora core have at least patches against 2.6.18? Where can I find them? Regards Markus

How to run cloud image for 6.5?
Hi, On my way to run centOS 6.5 on OpenStack I found the cloud images at http://cloud.centos.org/centos/6.5/devel/ and while the corresponding image for centOS 7 seems to work fine, I still need the older version for some legacy application, but I cannot find a way to run the images provided in that directory. Bug#429045: xen-doc pdf gzipped
Package: xen-docs-3.0 Version: 3.0.3-0-2 The PDF's are gzipped. As there is no PDF reader that can open such files, the process to get to read the docs is quite complicated. I doubt this package is useful that way. Then it's faster to lookup the docs on the net. To make it useful, please don't zip the files. Henning

ext3 errors
I recently set up a new system to run backuppc on centOS 5 with the archive stored on a raid1 of 750 gig SATA drives created with 3 members with one specified as "missing". Once a week I add the 3rd partition, let it sync, then remove it. I've had a similar system working for a long time using a firewire drive as the 3rd member, so I don't think the raid setup is the cause
