CentOS won't shutdown ... or do anything else
I started to have problems similar to ones described in the past on
this list but could not find any kind of resolution. I did an
lsmod, a mount command, and for fun, did an strace on shutdown to
see where it is hanging, and an ltrace as well.
Any thoughts?

qla2xxx driver failed in dom0 - invalid opcode: 0000 [1] SMP
I wanted to post this in case there is a real bug here.
The system this is on is running Debian Etch with the Xen packages from
Debian Unstable (currently 3.0.2+hg9697-1). I am running all packaged
software so this is probably slightly out of date.
This is on an HP DL320 G4 with a Pentium D 930 processor. I tried unloading
and reloading the qla2xxx module, but rmmod reported it in use, however

It would be interesting to see if this can be repro''ed on a tree built
from a recent xen-unstable.hg.

Problem booting on SAN xen 3.0.2
I''m trying to get Xen 3.0.2 working on an IBM Bladecenter with a qlogic 2300
fiber channel device and booting on a SAN.
I have compiled several version of the xen kernel and I''m unable to have an
initrd with the qla2300 or qla2xxx discovering any drive. I have tried
several options when compiling xen. But the result is always the same: the
initrd loads the driver but each

I''ve compiled the 3.0-devel version on SUSE Linux 9.3. The ony problem is the qla2300 driver, which will not start all correctly on boot. So i cannot see other partitions than sda.

Status on Poweredge Dell with Raid
I know this is off-topic to the list, but someone asked me to make the
information that I garnered about Dell Poweredge systems available to
the list.
So, here it is.
Basically, after a search on dejanews, I came across this article:
http://x5.dejanews.com/getdoc.xp?AN=430135686&CONTEXT=917266543.1696071777&hitnum=19
In it, someone states that there are drivers for the PERC RAID

Dell PowerEdge R920 w/ Perc H730P
I'm having an issue install FreeBSD 10.0 on a Dell PowerEdge w/ the Perc H730P raid controller.
I see there has been support added for the controller in the stable version using the mrsas driver.
But when I boot up in the installer... it is still trying to use the older mfi driver.
How do I get the installer to properly recognize the raid controller?
Are there any logs I can provide to help

Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello,
I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am
working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The
server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW
521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI
controllers, it hangs in a loop
aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen)
kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi
controller.
Had anyone had the same

Install Centos 6 x86_64 on Dell PowerEdge 2970 and a SSD (hardware probing issues)
I have a fleet of 2970s and we are upgrading the hardrives on the motherboard SATA ports (A/B not the PERC backplane) when a "detecting hardware" is performed the system crashes, reboots and gives an E1422 error code (useless video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhyMeUHJar4).
We narrowed it down to a motherboard BIOS issue, if we remove the SSD or add noprobe to the kernel the

This server should be fully ok to run RHEL8 and CentOS8. What exactly
goes wrong?

Re: Dell Poweredge 2650 - heavy IO hangs domU machine s; xen 2.0.7, xen kernel 2.6.11.12
The issues I''ve had with PE2650 and Linux in general all related to a lack
of IRQ''s. I had to disable all non-essential devices in the BIOS (lpt, usb
and com). It seems the BIOS on that server still has legacy IRQ issues (<
IRQ15). In my xenU''s I also renamed /etc/sysconf/hwconf so it would''nt try
to init any hardware devices directly.
Maybe these options

All,
I seem to be experiencing the same problem that Michal Urbanski talked

the problem. The specs on my machine are
