RE: "netdev watchdog" error and non-working sis900network card - solution
Yes, acpi=off seems to have decided my problem of instability. Soon, then I will be returning the HD in the machine in production and I dispatched by post the result. -- Leonardo Pinto listas#openlogic dot com br > The troubles went away when adding kernel options "noapic > acpi=off" to > the modules grub line. > > Both noapic and acpi=off make big difference to the

x86_64 rpms
I have just loaded up CentOS4.1 on a PE1850 with twin Intel x86_64's. When I came to clean out those packages I didn't want (because some always creep in however careful you are), apart from those with dependencies, I notice a lot of cases where there are two packages of the same name installed - one clearly an x86 package and one an x86_64 package. eg apr Is this intentional and if it

Dell PowerEdge 6800 hangs from time to time with dom0 only
It turns hard to make XEN 3.0 running on my middle-sized server. Now when XEN 3.0 is released I first successfully put it on several PCs and then decided to probe it on SMP and PAE enabled Dell PowerEdge 6800 server. And experienced intermittent hangs just after dom0 comes up. The [login:] prompt comes up and the server hangs completely for a while and in some 2-10 minutes releases just to let me

Dell portability
Howdy, I built an LXC container with an "image" of asterisk 11.18 precompiled and installed. It runs fine on the dev platform, which is a Dell R320 running Ubuntu 14.04LTS. I shutdown the container, tarred it up, and untarred on a Dell PE1850, also running Ubuntu 14.04LTS. The container itself is Ubuntu 14.04LTS. Both platforms as far as I know are amd64. The container boots

Dual T400P, SMP, performance issues
Hi, We are trying to validate Asterisk as a media gateway PRI <-> SIP with two T400P (8 T1s) per box. The first experience with BOX1 (Compaq, 2.53 GHz, 1 Gb RAM) and just one T400P was encouraging - on the load test with 3 T1s worth of calls we had on average 75% idle CPU. Not so with BOX2 (Dell, single 2.6 GHz Xeon, 1 Gb RAM, 2 T400P) and BOX3 (Dell, dual 2.6 GHz Xeon, 2 Gb RAM, 2 T400P,

IO causing major performance issues
Hello everyone. I'm wondering what other people's experiences are WRT systems becoming unresponsive (unable to ssh in, etc) for brief periods of time when a large amount of IO is being performed. It's really starting to cause a problem for us. We're on Dell PowerEdge 1955 blades - but this same issue has caused us problems on PE1950, PE1850, PE1750 servers. We're running

OT: Headset for Cisco 7960?
Sorry, I know it's OT, but does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive headset that is compatible with the Cisco 7960? I've tried the headset off Norstar phones, doesn't seem to work with or without the amp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson | natecars@natecarlson.com | http://www.natecarlson.com | | depriving some poor

HVM - BIOS serial console redirection?
I realized this is probably better suited for the devel list.. basically, is there any way in the BOCHS bios to enable ''Serial Console Redirection'', where you see the BIOS contents over the serial line? Windows 2003''s ''Emergency Management Services'' console (which allows you to do installs and fix stuff over the serial line) requires this to

Include HVM support?
Could the packages be updated to include the HVM support files? I believe the necessary files are: ./usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm ./usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm.debug ./usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader These do add dependencies on x11, so it may be a good idea to split it into a separate package.. but it is needed for VT-based processors.

Semi-OT: Splitting a PRI into two PRI's?
Hey all, I've got a PRI used for data calls right now, terminated in a MAX 4000. We're only using around 12 channels on average and 16 max, so I'd like to split off the remaining channels to terminate in an Asterisk box. Does anyone know of a device that'll take a PRI in, and spit out two PRI's that share the channels? Also need to be able to do some sort of call routing so

[Xen-tools] Storage for DomU
Hi all, I manage to create a VM (slackware image) and hide the PCI device (qlogic HBA) from Dom0 to DomainU. Now the Dom0 cant see this HBA and the ''xm list -l'' shows this pci device under the DomainU. But how can I do some scsi inquiry or check if this PCI device is visible to the DomainU from the DomainU''s console. Any help? Thanks and regards Ashit

Sort of OT: Recommended USB handset for use with iaxComm?
One of my coworkers needs to get a softphone set up to my Asterisk system; he's a Linux user, so it looks like about the only IAX2 option is iaxComm. For ease of use (he'll be using this a fair bit), I'm recommending that he get a USB handset; I'm just having trouble finding any US retailers for them. :) Could someone recommend a USB handset that's compatible with iaxComm

Yes. The acpi= line must go on the *xen* command line, which will

Xen 4.1, wheezy, pciback -> NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0 (via-rhine): tx queue 0 timed out
Apologies if this is posted on the wrong list, but when I try to get pci passthrough to work on a Wheezy Xen box I get NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0 (via-rhine): transmit queue 0 timed out and then not much else works at all. The same hardware works just fine with Xen and Squeeze. It seemed to me that the problem I am seeing is very similar to

kernel NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Hi , all : Sometimes my server network connection on Linux goes down with short message in syslog saying: "[localhost kernel] NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out" (or similar). By the way , I installed the CentOS 5.4 x86_64 bit and the kernel version was 2.6.18-164. Has anyone experienced this problem or is it the bug of the kernel ? I restart the network and that problem

VT built in?
Hi Xen team, one short question before I grab the new machine of a colleague: did you build Xen3 for Sid with VMX (virtualization with the newer Vander...Pacifica)? Or will I have to build it myself? Sorry for the direct mail to this list, but I'm not subscribed to Debian-Users. Please CC me, as I'm also not subsribed here. Thx. kind regards, Wolfgang -- cheers,

libc6 packages that really support nosegneg?
I've tried the libc6-xen package posted at: http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/xen/ However, it looks like programs are still calling the libc6 libraries in /lib/tls, instead of the xen-enabled ones. Is there anything special I need to do to get this to work, or is the package just busted? Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson |

Bug#368496: xen-utils-3.0: Include support for HVM-based guests
Package: xen-utils-3.0 Severity: wishlist Please include support for HVM-based guests. This allows hardware virtualization on systems with Intel's chips with VT (IE, Pentium D 930), and AMD's future chips with Pacifica. HVM allows you to run unmodified operating systems under Xen, such as Windows XP/2003. The following files are needed: /usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm

Xen on production enviroment
Hi, Someone already use xen as production server? For example: 3 domains (mail, proxy and web server). And what about stability? Regards, Marlon _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
