Does shared hosting work? Anywhere?
I moved a rails application to textdrive using their low-cost shared plan. Once on textdrive my app would display ''proxy errors'' periodically. Hitting reload seemed to be all that was needed to get past the proxy error. After discussions with their support people I decided the proxy errors were being caused by apache server restarts -- because there were many of us sharing one

OT: Headset for Cisco 7960?
Sorry, I know it's OT, but does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive headset that is compatible with the Cisco 7960? I've tried the headset off Norstar phones, doesn't seem to work with or without the amp. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson | natecars@natecarlson.com | http://www.natecarlson.com | | depriving some poor

HVM - BIOS serial console redirection?
I realized this is probably better suited for the devel list.. basically, is there any way in the BOCHS bios to enable ''Serial Console Redirection'', where you see the BIOS contents over the serial line? Windows 2003''s ''Emergency Management Services'' console (which allows you to do installs and fix stuff over the serial line) requires this to

View source after AJAX update?
Does anyone know how to view the new source in IE after an AJAX update? When I "view -> source" I get the original page source, not the page source as updated. Keeping javascript in the <head>
Given that Rails has built in ways to do almost everything else :) , is there a way to keep view specific javascripts inside the head tag of a layout without having to include that javascript on every page? -- Marlon -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Include HVM support?
Could the packages be updated to include the HVM support files? I believe the necessary files are: ./usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm ./usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm.debug ./usr/lib/xen/boot/hvmloader These do add dependencies on x11, so it may be a good idea to split it into a separate package.. but it is needed for VT-based processors.

Re: Xen on production enviroment
Hi John, And an excellent stab that was. I have two network interfaces. eth0 is a 3Com with a Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5701 Gigabit Ethernet chip, and eth1 is a 3Com 3cSOHO100-TX Hurricane chip. On the gigabit card, I couldn''t test anything, because I could not find out how to disable/enable/check checksum offloading. Using ethtool gives: Operation not supported For the

Semi-OT: Splitting a PRI into two PRI's?
Hey all, I've got a PRI used for data calls right now, terminated in a MAX 4000. We're only using around 12 channels on average and 16 max, so I'd like to split off the remaining channels to terminate in an Asterisk box. Does anyone know of a device that'll take a PRI in, and spit out two PRI's that share the channels? Also need to be able to do some sort of call routing so

Weird HTB behaviour in 2.6.17
Hello, I''ve just compiled the kernel 2.6.17 and noticed an odd HTB behaviour. For instance: tc class add dev eth0 parent 1:1 classid 1:30 htb rate 1kbit ceil 750Kbit burst 15k tc filter add dev eth0 parent 1:0 protocol ip prio 15 u32 match ip dst 192.168.5.1 classid 1:30 The filter works ok and the traffic to 192.168.5.1 flows through the class 1:30, but the rate gets much higher than

Sort of OT: Recommended USB handset for use with iaxComm?
One of my coworkers needs to get a softphone set up to my Asterisk system; he's a Linux user, so it looks like about the only IAX2 option is iaxComm. For ease of use (he'll be using this a fair bit), I'm recommending that he get a USB handset; I'm just having trouble finding any US retailers for them. :) Could someone recommend a USB handset that's compatible with iaxComm

Precision in R
Dear All, I'm preparing a simple algorithm for matrix multiplication for a specific purpose, but I'm getting some unexpected results. If anyone could give a clue, I would really appreciate. Basically what I want to do is a simple matrix multiplication: (WB) %*% t(WB). The WB is in the disk so I compared to approaches: - Load 'WB' using 'read.table' (put it in WB.tmp) and

Rails app settings for GoDaddy
I have a rails application that I am trying to get up and running on my GoDaddy account. I read an article that I got from this forum about how to properly set-up my account, but after following those direction I still get nothing to work. Just wondering if there is anyone out there that can point me to other resources to get me started or if anyone has any suggestions on what to try next. The

Reading a file every t seg.
Dear all, I'm writing a small program to read a file that receives data every time (e.g. every 1second ). help please - running a guest from an iSCSI disk ? getting more diagnostics than "cannot make domain: -3" ? how to make domain0 "privileged" ?
Good day - This is my first post to this list , and I''m new to Xen - any help on this issue would be much appreciated . I downloaded, built and installed xen-4.2.1 (hypervisor and tools) on an x86_64 ArchLinux box updated to latest software as of today. I am trying to bring up a Linux guest from a remote iSCSI disk. The iSCSI-initiator (open-iscsi) logs in to the remote target OK and

VT built in?
Hi Xen team, one short question before I grab the new machine of a colleague: did you build Xen3 for Sid with VMX (virtualization with the newer Vander...Pacifica)? Or will I have to build it myself? Sorry for the direct mail to this list, but I'm not subscribed to Debian-Users. Please CC me, as I'm also not subsribed here. Thx. kind regards, Wolfgang -- cheers,

X100M never goes on-hook state
Hi guys, I've been experiencing a very strange issue with my Digium Card TDM400 as of this week. It has two FXS and two FXO. The FXO modules (both of them) never goes on-hook after hanging up in Asterisk. It had worked perfectly well for over four years. I put an ammeter in series with the line and the card, and immediately after plugging the connector to the card, I got 26mA in the circuit

libc6 packages that really support nosegneg?
I've tried the libc6-xen package posted at: http://people.debian.org/~aurel32/xen/ However, it looks like programs are still calling the libc6 libraries in /lib/tls, instead of the xen-enabled ones. Is there anything special I need to do to get this to work, or is the package just busted? Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | nate carlson |
