OCFS and LVM2
Hi Everyboy !
I read that LVM2 is not cluster aware (specially with OCFS2) from different
post on internet forum... If it's true, could someone could confirm this
information and point me where i can find this affirmation in documentation
?
I do some test with OCFS2 on LVM2 and it's seems to run correctly , so i
have some interrogation about this fact !
If it's true that LVM2 are

Mode context extremely poor performance.
Hi all,
I curently have a big problem. One request (listed above) using context
take up to 1000 more time than the on RAW or ext2 database. I have ran
this request on a single IA32 machine with Redhat and dbf on ext2. The
average reponse time is less than a sec. The same request on RAC 4 nodes
cluster on RAW take the same average time. On ext2 idem. But on OCFS it
took up to 15 sec randomly

async io and ocfs redhat 2.1
Hi, in the users guide for ocfs it mentions setting up async io on
ocfs and the possible performance improvments.
However in metalink note 225751.1 is states
- Oracle Cluster File System (OCFS)
Async I/O could work on OCFS 1.0.9-4 and higher for RedHat kernel e.24
and higher but It's not supported and should not be used
So is it actually supported and the metalink note is wrong or should

fstype=auto breaks updatedb
It turns out that if you specify filesystem type `auto' in
/etc/fstab, updatedb (the thing which updates your `locate'
database) ceases to work.
Here's the contents of my /etc/updatedb.conf:
PRUNEFS="devpts NFS nfs afs proc smbfs autofs auto iso9660"
PRUNEPATHS="/tmp /usr/tmp /var/tmp /afs /net"
export PRUNEFS
export PRUNEPATHS

inodes and ocfs
Hi, ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.12-1 Redhat 2.1 enterprise kernel
Dont know if this is a problem or not but our monitoring software picked up
that an ocfs filesystem has a lack of inodes available to it
[root]# df -i
Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/sdh 163825 163527 298 100% /a04
This filesystem has about 11 files in it and isnt used, so

cp --o_direct
Another question.
When my database is running, I do
[oracle@LNCSTRTLDB03 LPTE3]$ cp --o_direct xdb01.dbf /tmp
cp: cannot open `xdb01.dbf' for reading: Permission denied
[oracle@LNCSTRTLDB03 LPTE3]$
When the database is shudown it works.
Is this normal for ocfs because with any other filesystem I can just
copy a file at any time (Its only a testing, I know I cant copy
datafiles and have

TDM2400 Hardware Echo Cancel
Good Day List,
I'm having some issues with echo cancel on my Asterisk box, and have
done
extensive reading and have gained some useful pointers from this list
but have a couple of hopefully fairly simple questions.
The Asterisk box is connected via 20 FXO ports on a TDM2400 with the
Hardware echo cancel module. Echo cancel almost works, but the users

what they describe as a

Stephen, all,
Thank u very much for your answer and i wish you an happy thanksgiving.
Currently we tried to migrate our base on RAW devices already using e41smp, SecurePath (HP) 3C and Qlogic 7.00. The average response time of our sql request on ia32 is 0.32Sec very regularly. On our Itanium on OCFS that's very randomly between 1 and 15Sec, and on RAW between <1s and 3 sec. David is an

Simple HTB setup with tcng
Hello all,
I am trying to set up a simple htb based system, where packets with
source ip 10.0.0.1 should have their own class.
I plan to use tcng to set it up easier.
Is there something wrong in my tcng file ?
~/tcng$ cat htb
/*

#include "fields.tc"
#include "ports.tc"
dev eth0 {
htb ( ) {
class ( rate 600kbps, ceil 600kbps )

Xen Networking problem!
Hi,
I ''ve got a CentOS 5.2 server running xen 3.0 with 2 DomUs also running
CentOS 5.2.
All my boxes are up-to date.
I''m experiencing trouble with networking.
Dom0 can reach the outside world when no DomU are started. It can also
reach the outside world when only one DomU is running.
The troubles begin when I start the second DomU. At first, this new

OCFS for SMP kernel (EM64T)
Hi all,
My Ct's box is RH 3.0 SMP kernel EM64T.
They are asking if OCFS for SMP (EM64T) is available or not.
In following site, we can not see OCFS for SMP (EM64T).

OCFS install trouble w/ new kernel - unresolved symbols
I successfully have OCFS running in a two-node RAC environment using RHAS
3 (2.4.21-4.EL) using Qlogic 2310 cards. IO performance, however, was
terrible with the combination of OCFS and the Qlogic cards. After
extensive testing, OCFS did fine on its own, as did the fibre cards. Put
the two together, and everything literally ran twice as slow.
Support at Qlogic pointed me to
