ZFS encryption?? - [Fwd: [osol-announce] SXCE Build 105 available]
It was rumored that Nevada build 105 would have ZFS encrypted file systems integrated into the main source. In reviewing the Change logs (URL''s below) I did not see anything mentioned that this had come to pass. Its going to be another week before I have a chance to play with b105. Does anyone know specifically if b105 has ZFS encryption? Thanks, Jerry -------- Original Message

Can't use samba-tool gpo restore command
Hi, After I successfully dumped the GPO policies on my working domain controller I would like to reuse it on a different domain server, but when I use the following command: samba-tool gpo restore B59E0B93-8226-40CA-A5C8-58A7AA1D139E /var/tmp/samba_gpo/policy/\{B59E0B93-8226-40CA-A5C8-58A7AA1D139E\} I got this error message: Using temporary directory /tmp/tmpo7huf4c0 (use --tmpdir to

Problem installing RCS on SXCE
I was shocked to find no RCS on SXCE 107. I needed it to update some RCS archives I had copied over. No problem - go to sunfreeware and copy it over. No OpenSolaris branch? The Solaris 10 package should work. Only the package install appears to complete and does not - as documented only in a log file, not on my screen. OK then, the source for RCS should be easily compiled and installed, I

p2v for sxce snv115 to xvm on opensolaris host?
hi folks, is there a straightforward or well-documented way to migrate my physical sxce snv_115 (x64) system into an xvm ? searching for "p2v" in an opensolaris context seems to pick up a few hits on zones, but nothing obvious relating to xvm on opensolaris for what it''s worth the host system is opensolaris (2010.02 snv_126), but i''m hoping that''s not very

VoiceMailMain dumps user back into my incoming context after leaving a message
I have a dial plan that includes a company phone directory as a main menu option. If they just sit at the main menu, after 20 seconds, they are transferred to the operator. If the user picks an extension from the directory, they are transferred to the proper extension. If the called number is not available, they are transferred into VoiceMailMain. They leave a message, and hang up. The hang

Time taken Backup using ZFS Send Receive
I have been using ZFS send and receive for a while and I noticed that when I try to do a send on a zfs file system of about 3 gig plus it took only about 3 minutes max. zfs send application/sample at back > /backup/sample.zfs However when I tried to send a file system that''s about 20 gig, it took almost an hour. I would had expected that since 3 gig took 3 mins, then 20 gig should

If IAX client is not logged in/registered, Dial plan executes BUSY vs UNAVAILABLE
If I have an IAX client (Firefly softphone in this example), and the client is not registered at the moment because they are not connected to the network and someone dial that extension, they get the user's "I'm on the phone at the moment" message vs. the "I'm unavailable" message. Is this by design? Here's the extension in question's dialplan:

I am trying to create some new Chime displays using the new display wizard. I''m practicing by basing them off an existing display. When I get to the end of the wizard and press finish, I get an NoSuchMethodException: org.opensolaris.chime.util.TableSortCriteria.getAscending error (more details below). SXCE 121 Kernel Panic while installing NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM DomU
Hi all! I am running SXCE 121 on a dual quad-core X2200M2 (64 bit of course). During an installation of a NetBSD 5.0.1 PVM domU, the entire machine crashed with a kernel panic. Here''s what I managed to salvage from the LOM console of the machine: Sep 2 18:55:19 glaurung genunix: /xpvd/xdb@41,51712 (xdb5) offline Sep 2 18:55:19 glaurung genunix: /xpvd/xdb@41,51728 (xdb6) offline

Get your SXCE on ZFS here!
With the release of the Nevada build 90 binaries, it is now possible to install SXCE directly onto a ZFS root filesystem, and also put ZFS swap onto a ZFS filesystem without worrying about having it deadlock. ZFS now also supports crash dumps! To install SXCE to a ZFS root, simply use the text-based installer, after choosing "Solaris Express" from the boot menu on the DVD. DVD download

Learning SELINUX management, help?
OK, so setup CENTOS-5 on a laptop to learn about Xen stuff. KDE Desktop, wanted to print the virt.108.com xen howto. Needed to setup printer first. Open KDE control center, go to printers. Disabling checksum offloading at install OSOL 2009.06 PV DomU on Xen 3.4.1 Ubuntu 9.04 Dom0 ( with 2.6.30.1 xenified aka Suse kernel)
Following bellow procedure involves Solaris Kernel module debugger to patch OSOL’s (SNV_111b) kernel at booting up to succeed with dhcp lease and to be able proceed with initial install. File /etc/system gets updated via root terminal session before standard reboot to make the patch for kernel permanent
