I got Starcraft and Warcraft 3 working without a CD Crack using wine. The trick is a link in the ~/.wine/dosdevices directory to your mounted CD-Rom directory with the name: "d:" for example if you starcraft CD is mounted in /media/STARCRAFT then enter the following commands: cd ~/.wine/dosdevices ln -s /media/STARCRAFT d: Don't connect the the Battle.net. Starcraft and Diablo II use a lot of CPU power
Hello, I am running Wine 1.0 under Fedora 9 x86_64. The problem is that the two mentioned games use a lot of CPU power about 50 % on a 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo. At first I thought this is caused by GDI DirectDraw renderer, but changing to opengl did not help. Also, it is just the same when you configure Diablo to use Direct3D renderer. Does anybody has any idea where can I look for the source of this

Of Starcraft 2 and Mice
Hi everyone, I've tried browsing the endless wine faq's,forums, and bug reports and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Anyways, as for my actual issue: Ubuntu 10.10 on 2.6.35-28-generic x86_64 I'm running on the latest public build (1.3.16) (same behaviour in 1.2x) and have a rather annoying problem. Since there are a lot of issues when not running SC2 in a

Need help with Warcraft II BattleNet Edition and LAN play
Hello, I'm trying to get LAN play working with Warcraft II BNE. As many of you know, W2BNE is so old that LAN play is done through IPX networking. I realize there are instructions for installing IPX on Linux, but I'm using Mac OS X, for which there are no IPX solutions. However, I have found that there is now a (Windows) winsock wrapper that tunnels IPX packets over UDP called IPXWrapper

Starcraft II 1.1.2: Cannot load libGL
Hey everybody, I tried Googling specific problems with this but could not find any. I was working under wine1.3.4 when Starcraft II was in 1.1.1, but after successfully installing the patch 1.1.2 (for Starcraft II that is), I am unable to start the game, and it officially complains about DirectX not being installed. However, that's not true as we all know... The terminal output is as follows:

In the games menus the cursor seems to be completely unsynchronized with where the mouse should be. For example I can see buttons glow as if I were hovering over them when my cursor is in a completely different

SC was running fine until I changed graphics cards. (nvidia gt120 to quadro fx 3800) Now I can log in but If I try to continue campaign or play a bnet game it crashes with an Access Violation claiming the memory cannot be read or that it can't be written. I've upgraded the kernel, installed the latest drivers from nvidia and I'm running the latest wine build. Anyone have an idea of
