Xorg cursor instead of wine's (or even changing wine's default cursor)
Is there a way to hide wine's default cursor or change it or use Xorg's cursor? (I did ask this on IRC last night, but only 1 person responding he/she didn't think so, so I'm asking on the list just to be sure). Reason for this is, I have found a mouse.c patch that enables a sort of HW OpenGL cursor for WoW. (Basically shows the wine hw cursor instead of hiding it, then with a

command history under cursor keys
g'day R friends, I was hoping someone could provide me with advice as to my dysfunctional 'arrow' keys. Instead of browsing thru my command history they just move my cursor. What have I done wrong? My TERM seems ok for other unix apps. I'm running under hpux 10.20 with R1.0.0 thanks, John Strumila -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Loss of Prompt & Cursor
When I log into a virtual console as ordinary user, I initially have a prompt & cursor. After I print 24 lines or more, the last visible (24th) line will be data instead of the prompt & cursor. The up arrow no longer gives the previous commands. A clear command will restore the prompt & cursor. This bug first appeared after I installed CentOS5. I do not believe it is a CentOS5

Autocompleter - up arrow moves cursor to start of input box
When using the autocompleter and scrolling through options, if you press the up arrow key the input field cursor moves backward. Some of my users have reported that they find this very distracting. Does anyone know why this happens, or where in the code I could fix it? Steps to recreate: 1. Go to http://demo.script.aculo.us/ajax/autocompleter 2. Type in a letter (or two or three) 3. Arrow down

?Common CLI Wrap Bug Strikes WINE?
This has been on my mind for a long time, and it's time I ask. Every version of WINE I have ever used Wine cmd in has this "bug", but I don't know if it's Wine's fault, or terminal's fault. Or if WINE cmd can at least be made more compatible with terminal. If I open terminal (only tried this in Linux) and run wine's cmd, I get wine's cmd in the terminal. If I

memory check
I'm working on R1.1.1 and was wondering if there is a way to check how much memory an object would require, a.k.a. a way to check whether the object you'd like to create is going to exceed the heap memory available? Something to the effect of: if ( memorycheck(object) > vsize ) { don't create object } else { create object } Thanks in advance for any help, Michael

CentOS5: Loss of Prompt & Cursor in Virtual Console Mode
When I log into a virtual console (e.g.,#4) as ordinary user, I initially have a prompt & cursor. I then do several ls -l /home/user-name and several lines of data. If the number of lines is less than it takes to fill the screen, I will retain the prompt & cursor. If the number of lines (resulting from that last command) fills the screen or more, the last visible line will be data

Strange cursor and no difference between normal and bold
Hello, I did an update to Debian 4.0 with Wine 0.9.25. Now the cursor is changed to a hand in the application (Schedule+), and I don't like that. What can I do to change the cursor in an arrow again? Another point is a font. I don't see a difference between bold and normal anymore. This is importanti in the application, because a bold font means that there is an appointment on that

Changing a for loop to a function using sapply
Apparently there is one or more concepts that I do not fully understand from the descriptions of a function and the apply material. I have been reading the mail from this forum and have learned much but, in this case, what I have been reading here and from the manual isn't enough. The following code produces what I want with the for loop. From what I have read from this forum, a for

Animated Cursor Support
Is there an easier way of getting animated cursors rather than having to re-compile the whole thing? I'm referring to Command & Conquer 3. I got it to work, but just no animated cursors. The patching referred to in this article: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7440 gives me errors. So back to the original question.

Working around visible cursor problems
Currently, there are some problems in WINE with determining when the cursor should be visible. For example, when playing NoX, the X11 cursor sits smack dab in the middle of the screen -- the game's cursor moves around, but you have this annoying thing jerking around in the middle of the screen. At some point, perhaps someone will fix this, but for now, it can just be worked around. I decided

New package: bridgedist (v 0.1.0)
R Users, The d/p/q/r functions for the bridge distribution are now available in bridgedist. SSH/SFTP from HP-UX to a Windows 2003 OpenSSH 3.8 -1p1
We have used OpenSSH version 3.8-1p1 on our Windows 2003 servers for the last several years for SFTP connection to our HP-UX Open SSH version 3.9 servers. This is the first time having connections problems. The new Window 2003 server is in a DMZ zone and our security policy software has been set to allow port 22 to pass in/out for our HP-UX servers. I have the sshd_config file the same as the
