DirectX problems
Hi,
Maybe you've talked about this many times before, but i've got a problem with
DirectX.
When i try to run any application that uses DirectX it just tells me that i
don't have it installed on my system. The fact is that i do have it
installed, and works fine in Windows ME, maybe the version is too recent? i'm
using DirectX 7.
My system is:

Wine redraw problem with baldur's gate ii (and others)
Hello.
When i upgraded wine from 0.9.46 to 0.9.53 i noticed a annoying thing.
When i run Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn (and Icewind Dale II) on
normal fullscreen mode they work fine. If i enable the "emulate a virtual
desktop" option so that it runs on a window, it works fine until another
window gets on top of the wine window.
For example, i run xterm and run wine. If i click

DirectX 5.0
Hello,
I am trying to install Streets of SimCity. I have the
latest Codeweavers wine. I have other apps installed
and running fine, so this isn't my first install.
I run the install, and it basically stops installing
when it tries to install DirectX 5.0 (it doesn't ask
me first if I even want to install it).
I kill the app, and the game is ready to play. I
execute the app, and the

Substitute NAs in a data frame
Excuse me for what I'm sure is a stupid beginner's question, but I've
given up trying to find the answer to this question from the help,
RSiteSearch, or any of the usual places.
I have a list that looks like this:

Directsound deadlocks
Yesterday I've tried to get Diablo II working under Wine (Codeweavers
preview version), and it constantly crashed (or better, seemed to get
stuck in a deadlock) during startup. It was during a DirectSound
SetCooperativeLevel call, and the console kept saying 'timed out.
waiting 60 secs'.
Now, I'm using ALSA with OSS emulation (through the snd-pcm-oss kernel
module) and a

Games: Grand Theft Auto 2 / DirectX 6.1 support?
Hi all,
I've checked the archives and can't find anything regarding the above so
here goes:
Has anyone had any luck getting GTA2 or other games that require DirectX
6.1 support working under Wine so far? I used to keep a Win95 partition
on my machine specifically for this game, but recently my second disk
died and I need the space for my Linux installation.
Any help appreciated.

How to run 3D Studio 7
I used crossover to install 3DSMax 7 in ubuntu. Unlike other versions, this one is known to run with wine (and crossover). Even though the software indeed is starting and running, I'm facing trouble with directx and my ATI-graphics-card now: The viewports just don't refresh (see screenshot below). Changing to OpenGL causes ubuntu to freeze. Software-rendering doesn't work either. Are

directx not found
Correctly installed Marvel Ultimate Alliance, already present in appdb as gold.
The installer complained that it could not install directx.
As specified in appDB I added d3dx9_36.dll to system32.
When I run the application it says:
"DirectX9.0c is not installed on this computer. Install it and try again."
I tried to play with libraries in winecfg but without luck.

DirectX and Wine
I'm having problems compiling and linking a simple DirectX program with Wine.
The problem is: a global variable c_dfDIMouse should be declared in dinput.h
and defined in library dinput.
c_dfDIMouse really is declared in dinput.h, but it seems that c_dfDIMouse is
not declared in library dinput.
During linking I get the error: undefined reference to `c_dfDIMouse'.
Anyone got a clue?
Thanks

Wine DirectX on Mac OS X
I have been for a while now waiting to see if this would get fixed or improved at all, but it has not been so. What is the current status of trying to get OpenGL or DirectX programs (anything in Wine that requires OpenGL) to run on Mac OS X. I have, in all my searchings of the net, found no possible way of doing so at the moment. Wine compiles fine and finds openGL (both release version and git)

Modernizing LLVM Coding Style Guide and enforcing Clang-tidy
Hi everyone,
I would like to start a discussion about enforcing use of clang-tidy (or
better clang-tidy-diff) on patches before sending it to review.
I like how clang-format simplified sending patches and reviews, e.g. "Use
clang-format" instead of giving long list of lines that should be formatted
by reviewer.
I believe that clang-tidy can be also be very helpful here.

Call for volunteers
Hi,
I have built a list of projects that would benefit Wine (or at least
would make me feel better) and yet should be easy to tackle by new Wine
developpers. So if you wanted to contribute to Wine but just did not
know where to start I hope this list can provide you with some ideas.
If you want to contribute but don't find anything that motivates you
in this list, just post a message

[cfe-dev] Modernizing LLVM Coding Style Guide and enforcing Clang-tidy
I'm a bit confused by this whole discussion.
clang-format is neither mandated (by documentation) nor enforced (by any
infrastructure/automation) for use in the LLVM project that I know of.
It's convenient, and in review people may reasonably ask authors to
consider running it, etc - but we have no system that requires or checks
for that. Might be nice, might not be.
It sounds like even
