Quiet Backtrace in RSpec
I''m using RSpec on Rails and would like to clean up the backtraces, so I went looking for an RSpec equivalent to ThoughtBot''s Quiet Backtrace gem<http://thoughtbot.com/projects/quietbacktrace>. I found Spec::Runner::QuietBacktraceTweaker in the RDOCS, but I can''t figure out how to use it. Can I add something to spec_helper.rb that will utilize

New 'quiet' behavior - optional?
Syslinux version 3.74 introduced the following change (I know, old news really) -> Suppress the Loading ... message if "quiet" is specified on the kernel command line. Unfortunately, for our PXELinux environment this was a very unwanted change. The linux command line parameter 'quiet' is included and passed to linux because we want (and in cases absolutely require) that the

Phone meeting about kernel virtualization hooks
I would like to host a phone meeting to discuss the plans for the xen sub-architecture of x86. Hopefully Chris can share his vision and we can agree on some next steps to getting this done and into the mainline kernel. From my understanding, it would be good if the "To" list could make it. If anyone believes others should attend, please let them know. Please let me know if you are

Documentation for downloading and reading offline
Is there anywhere that I can download the Ruby/Rails documentation & APIs so I can peruse it offline at leisure? I only have a dialup connection at home and going online all the time to access important documentation like that is a bit of a pain. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Moving the IRC channel to oftc.net...
Due to some issues around channel ownership and spamming, we've decided to move the IRC channel for discussing issues over to the OFTC IRC network[1]. I'll continue to be available in the channel on freenode for a while, but I'll be redirecting people to our new channel. Thanks for your understanding. Any questions, please feel free to ask. Successive Graphs
Hello! I have written an R script on a Windows platform where I calculate eight result matrices I plot using matplot. I would like to display the resulting plots successively, rather than simultaneously, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how to do this. The graphs pop up in this manner by default when I run my script in S-PLUS, with tabs separating them so I

turning off udev for eth0
I have set up a kvm host and configured a standard clone prototype for generating new guests. One persistent (pun intended) annoyance when cloning is the behaviour of udev with respect to the virtual network interface. The prototype is configured with just eth0 having a dedicated IP addr. When the prototype is cloned udev creates rules for both eth0 and eth1 in the clone. Because eth1 does not

Braindead Autoreply filters... WAS Re: samba Digest, Vol 102, Issue 8
It would be nice if one of the list moms would immediately unsubscribe AND PERMANENTLY BAN idiots who use braindead autoreply filters. This should be official list policy for ALL email lists... ISPConfig: Secure on Centos?
Just wanted to see if this tool was approved or disapproved of in the centos community as far as security is concerned. http://www.ispconfig.org/ I have noted that anything that is not a centos package is probably suspect, -so feel free to assure, or warn, at your leisure. Basically we are looking for a secure GUI based DNS admin tool, (I myself prefer an openbsd or centos dns machine and tyo

cbq vs htb?
Hello, Does anyone know when one should use cbq versus (simpler more accurate) htb? Specifically does cbq have added functionality that may be of interest to certain applications? from htb home> Both CBQ and HTB help you to control the use of the outbound bandwidth on a given link. Both allow you to use one physical link to simulate several slower links and to send different kinds of

Leisure Suit Larry's Greatest Hits and Misses
I am now at the point where I have one more thing to install before I can scrap my Windows box - and it's Leisure Suit Larry's Greatest Hits and Misses. I have installed the DOS-based parts of it in dosbox, and also used sarien and freesci to handle some of it, but there is a significant part of this collection that needs Windows. Trying an installation with the default Windows version

Difficulty understanding sem errors / failed confirmatory factor analysis
Hello, I'm trying to fit a pretty simple confirmatory factor analysis using the sem package. There's a CFA example in the examples, which is helpful, but the output for my (failing) model is hard to understand. I'd be interested in any other ways to do a CFA in R, if this proves troublesome. The CFA is replicating a 5 uncorrelated-factor structure (for those interested, it is a

monitoring classes
Greetings all, I''ve been searching high and low for any inkling of how people are monitoring classes for long term usage data. I''m thinking something along a script to collect the data for mrtg or perhaps even an snmp module that would present them as interfaces to be polled....has anyone done any work in this area? Minimal AD DC server for dev/test setup
About the last question, I'll be reading up on samba-tool. Apologies. A better question is: can I run the DC without an attached DNS server? How little can I get away with running? In my imagination, I should be able to run just the LDAP+Kerberos parts, AIUI that's all I need, skipping DNS, fileserving, winbind, etc; blame this on my view of AD as a quirky LDAP. Again, scoped for my use
