Hi all, I was looking to upgrade my dovecot .99.14 installation to 1.0alpha5 today and bumped into an issue. My setup is on Mac OS X 10.4 and I am using After reading http://wiki.dovecot.org/UpgradingDovecot , I created a default dovecot.conf file with the following information grabbed from my prior installation: Snow:~ ed$ grep -v '^ *#' /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf|grep -v ^$

iPhone 1.1.1 problems.
I'm having problems with the iPhone client in the 1.1.1 version of the iPhone software. Things with other clients work fine, and the iPhone worked fine before it was upgraded to 1.1.1. Other phones on 1.1.1 failed. I'm still working on testing against the client with the iPhone 1.0.2 software on it. The problem is that the client simply doesn't connect to dovecot. I can see the

Mailbox locking problem with iphone and POP3
I have a problem I can't seem to fix. I have dovecot configured to do POP3 with plain text authentication using a MySQL database. I am using Dovecot 1.0.7 with fcntl locking. My problem has been when an iPhone/iPod checks email. The iPhone/iPod doesn't disconnect with a TCP FIN packet and it leaves the mailbox in a locked state and prevents the user's desktop from checking

Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone
Heres a little teaser for those of you with iPhones Asterisk Voicemail for iPhone allows you to check your voicemail messages on your house or business line from your iPhone. You can think of it as "Visual Voicemail", but for your Asterisk PBX numbers instead of your AT&T cell number. The technology behind it is Asterisk (The Open-Source PBX), with iUI, Joe Hewitt's UI interface

Theora (and ogg) on iPhone
I haven't been able to find anything about a port of the ogg/theora decoder to the iPhone. I'm somewhat amazed it hasn't been done, really, given the campaign against the iPhone in part for "not supporting open source codecs". So, is there an unspoken ban on this, am I searching in the wrong places or am I just the only one who'd really really like to be able to stream

SPEEX on iPhone ?
Hello Ashhar, thanks for your reply, but i'm a bit surprised. 1- Does it mean that it is possible to make a Real Time Encoding/Decoding with SPEEX on iPhone ? 2- What parameters have been used (QUALITY, SAMPLING_RATE, BITRATE) ? and what kind of CPU load do they measure for that ? Thanks by advance, Vincent ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ashhar Farhan" <farhan at

Ogg Vorbis on iPhone?
Hi All, I've been doing a lot of cross platform work lately, getting Ogg Vorbis to run on Mac and PC, but haven't been able to find a readily available version of libogg and libvorbis for iPhone. I see a macosx target in the SVN trunk but not an iphone one. I found these links with some background: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/theora-dev/2008-October/003719.html

Theora on iPhone
I posted a while back "complaining" about lack of a theora player on the iPhone. Porting the code for libtheora (and libogg/libvorbis) was (relatively) painless, and appears to be working. I'm up against a tougher challenge now... rendering the video! I tried using the brand-new SOC-funded SDL port to iphone to get the "player_example.c" code up and running, but ran into

iPhone patches question
When the Tuner2 iPhone Player hits the Apple iTunes Apps Store, this should solve everyone's player problem: http://www.indexcom.com/iphone.html There is a lot of information on this page. It tells an interesting story about audio quality. This player is not an Orban project. -greg. ORBAN At 18:16 2009-03-16, oddsock wrote: >As of right now, you are out of luck in terms of instream

Re: using Ajax.PeriodicalUpdater in iPhone
it''s probably the iPhone. I mean, would you *really* want your phone to be connected to the internet all the time? iPhone patches question
Hi Bob, I am thinking that metadata could be streamed to the iPhone with some additonal work. There are some possible methods including wrapping a custom interface (either a Web App or iPhone SDK App) to check with a server script to grab metadata and display it as its streaming the Icecast MP3 Format. For example: There would be two domains such as icecast.server and metadata.server on the

[LLVMdev] llvm-gcc broken in iPhone SDK?
There's an error trying to build a "hello world" project out of the box when selecting LLVM from the list of compilers in iPhone SDK: http://arrelid.com/archive/2009/01/15/xcode-iphone-sdk-llvm-gcc-fixing-what-apple-forgot This is on XCode 3.1.2, iPhone SDK 2.2.1 . The blogger suggests what looks like a hack -- is there a proper solution to this? Is llvm-gcc just missing a header
