Problem installing plugins
I''m trying to install a plugin using the supplied command...
$ script/plugin install svn://rubyforge.org//var/svn/backgroundrb
I get an error
sh: line 1: svn: command not found
What am I doing wrong? What is svn, and why is it not found?? It seems
to work for everyone else....
Have I missed something in my Ruby install?

Comments on rails usage
Hello,
I''m the CTO for a new startup. I''ve recommended that we utilise Ruby on
Rails, but my CEO & investors need a little more convincing [new
technology, managing risk, etc..].
Are there any CTO''s or similar of ecommerce startup''s or existing
organisations that have moved to Ruby on Rails that would be willing to
have a 5-10 chat with my CEO about

Job trend cross-over for Ruby/Rails and Java combo
See the graph at
http://tinyurl.com/35rnx4
For some time, I''ve been watching the three combinations
ruby + rails,
ruby + developer,
java + hibernate + tomcat
using the www.indeed.com job-trend grapher.
They have (after a long climb), finally reached parity.
Of course, you can pick different combinations and get entirely
different results.

Hi All,
I'm not too sure if this is the right Ng to make this posting however, if it
isn't I'd be grateful
if you could point me to the appropriate Ng for this post. I recently sent a
similar post to this Ng
but got no response, if this is not the correct newsgroup for this kind of
post, I will greatly appreciate
some feedback regarding where I'm likely to get a more favourable

Ruby on Rails Presentation to Agile Atlanta Group tonight...
Hi everyone,
We had a really successful meeting tonight in Atlanta. The topic was
an introduction to Ruby on Rails and our attendance was 30 people,
which is over double of what we normally get. (Our attendance has
dropped since moving the venue about 25 miles north of the city.
The majority of the group stayed well past two hours, at which point
we took a break. The entire presentation and

how to stop yum when networkmanager has broken resolv.conf?
So, I'm getting an error where the network service and NetworkManager
apparently don't agree on how to bring up vlans on bonded nics.
Things come up if you 'ifup ..' manually. I thought I'd check if
there were any updates, forgetting to fix what NetworkManger had done
to /etc/resolv.conf and:

Dynamically created queries
Hello,
I am having difficulty dynamically building a query. I want to ensure
that I''m using Active Record protection against SQL injection attacks.
In PHP land, I would have built up the query in my logic & attempted to
clean every variable - a bit tedious really.
I want to be able to achieve something like:
events = Event.find(:all,
:conditions => [**DynamicallyBuiltQuery**

UI Integration with RSpec?
Hi all,
Is there any integration with testing tools such as RSpec or
Test::Unit planned? I see that the cruise task is run correctly, but
the tests show up underneath the build log. Ideally I''d like them to
show up the same way that they do in ''java'' CruiseControl, in their
own section of tests.
Will.

smbldap.c
Hi !
I was just wondering if that piece of code was important (for security
and such), because I had to comment it in smbldap.c before compiling
samba-3.0; otherwise, I would have errors like:
"(Insufficient access)smbldap_open: cannot access LDAP when not root"
#ifndef NO_LDAP_SECURITY
if (geteuid() != 0) {
DEBUG(0, ("smbldap_open: cannot access LDAP

MacBook Pro Yonah (Intel Core Duo)
Dear all;
Has anyone tried the new CPU (codename Yonah) produced by Apple? I heard
from the engineer of Apple that MacBook Pro is already reachable, although
it is not distributed to the public until February. If anyone has some
information, I would like to buy it to enlarge the frontier.
-- Does Yonah demand xen/i86 or xen/ppc? Or we need brand-new source code?
That is the problem. Is

Git support - kinda works, have design questions
As of now, I can create a project from Git repository, run a builder
on it, and even run the dashboard. Build pages look ugly because
build.label in git is very long, a bunch of unit tests is failing, and
I had to disable some functionality, namely displaying source control
errors in the dashboard.

Is the dashboard output of 1.2.1 supposed to validate (I get numerous
failures)? I''m seeing some issues that I hadn''t been running into
before my upgrade. The first time I load the dashboard I''m seeing a

triggers the all of the projects except the first are duplicated and
