QEMU 0.9.0 packages available for Solaris 8 (-SDL, use vnc), 9&10 (+SDL)
All, I''ve posted some QEMU 0.9.0 packages for x86_64 and SPARC on my website at http://www.thoughtwave.net/downloads.html Some of these include libSDL support compiled in (The Solaris 10+ version), but I did not have libSDL available on my Solaris 9 machine. Some include MTOOLS 3.9.10 which is invaluable for building floppy disk images for RTOS development. The packages install in

Build R static
Hi, I am having trouble building R static on Solaris 5.10. I have a requirement to run R within a specific user account on Solaris 5.10 and I do not have access to compilers and or shared libraries on the target machine. I thought I could build R static ( I've build it locally on Solaris with shared libraries) and just ftp the build to the target Solaris box. Can any help with what

pid-provider sees ld.so.1 only
I''m trying to do some userspace tracing on a server-process with the pid provider. My problem is, that the only probes the pid-provider lists for the server-process (to which I attach dtrace with "-p nnnn") are coming from "ld.so.1". There''s not a single one from my modules. If I''m specifying "a.out" (or any of our shared-objects) as the

Dovecot SSL issue on Solaris 10 x64 (64-bit)
I'm having an issue with Thunderbird (and Opera) and Dovecot SSL on a Solaris 10. My OS is Solaris 10 6/06 x86 (running in 64-bit mode) using ZFS (disk mirror) as the filesystem for my users. Dovecot version is 1.0rc7 (logs below are from 1.0rc6). First the connection asks if the SSL-certificate should be accepted, accepting it seems to work but then nothing happens. Thunderbird is

64 bit compilation SUSE 10.2
Greetings All, I am attempting to compile wine under the SUSE 10.2 64 bit distribution, and am running into a bit of a problem. I have installed every 32 bit library that I could find in the distro, including the xorg-X11 libs. I ran the following commands: ./configure --prefix=/usr --x-libraries=/usr/X11R6/lib make depend && make The compilation chugs away for about 15 min,

Help with Qemu 0.8.2
Thanks, I have downloaded the thoughtwave build of Qemu 0.9.0 which does not appear to support kqemu as the Qemu project v0.8.2_cvs20070120_REV_2007.01.24 version does. I did find that running Win98se with kqemu accelerator enabled consistantly caused Solaris 10 8/07 to freeze completely; however Win2K worked perfectly. I built and installed the tuntap devices for Solaris from the sources here

Zfs and b114 version
http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b114/ This URL makes me think that if I just sit down and figure out how to compile OpenSolaris, I can try b114 now^h^h^h eventually ? I am really eager to try out the new quota support.. has someone already tried compiling it perhaps? How complicated is compiling osol compared to, say, NetBSD/FreeBSD, Linux etc ? (IRIX and its quickstarting??) --

Need help to install dovecot on solaris 10 with openldap libs
Hi, I install dovecot with ldap support at Solaris 10 (x86). I know that solaris LDAP is broken and so I install openldap. OpenLDAP shared libraries are at /usr/local/lib and /usr/local/include. While installing dovecot, I did the followings: I execute this before run "./configure --with-ldap" LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib -R/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.2/lib

dovecot rc7 assert, core
Hi, Wow, I haven't had an assert/core in dovecot in a long time. Here goes: Setup: Solaris 10, dovecot built with gcc 4.1.1, imap and imaps only. User's home directory lives on a ZFS filesystem, but I don't think that makes a difference. So does every other user here (>3K). Dovecot 1.0beta8 dovecot-auth consumes 100% CPU time on Solaris 10 amd64
Hello. I hope someone out there can help with this. It is getting pretty urgent. I am running a Solaris 10 server on Opteron (amd64) hardware and have compiled Dovecot 1.0beta8 from source. It has openssl compiled in (after much mucking around with various environment variables and modifying the Makefile), and was built with: $ ./configure --with-ldap --with-ssl-dir=/etc/ssl $ make # make
