I have a newly built dovecot-1.0.beta8 crashing at start

Built on Solaris 10u1 x64 with Studio11 sun compiler, using
LDFLAGS=-L/opt/csw/lib -R/opt/csw/lib -lssl
CPPFLAGS=-I/opt/csw/include
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/dovecot-1.0.beta8 --with-ldap

I notice in the configure script, that it's building with the system
ldap.h,
which I don't think is openldap. however the bin is linked to the
lib from blastwave.org which is openldap.
How can I specify the correct inc/lib pair? if this is indeed the problem.
Please tell me how to produce a backtrace if one is needed if this is an
actual bug.....

If you have one, maybe you did this already. Then do a "file core" to find out what process caused the core, eg imap. What I do is move the core file to the same directory as the executable, and run gdb: gdb imap core backtrace following by further poking around with gdb.
