Locking Zoom, yet manipulating window?
I a rather dependent upon the Enhanched Zoom Desktop tool. It allows me to zoom into a part of the screen and see it clearly, with the zoomed part of the screen following the mouse. However, there are times when I need the screen to remain where it is (not to pan with the mouse), and the only way that I've found to do that is with the "Toggle zoom area lock" option. When this option

Enhanced Zoom cursor in 0.7.6
Does Compiz-0.7.6 solve the problem with the 'waiting' cursor being invisible when using the Enhanced Zoom plugin? I see mention of 'various bugfixes' but I couldn't find the appropriate bug to check it's status. Thanks. Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out!
Compiz Fusion Release 0.5.2 is out! This is the first development release of Compiz Fusion, the result of more than six months of work and polish. The first stable release, 0.6.0, will follow after the Compiz 0.6.0 release. Compiz Fusion is the result of a merge between the Compiz community plugin set "Compiz Extras" and the parts of the Beryl project that are independent of the

Zoom enhancements
I'll be working on zoom during Google summer of code, to get it to work better with existing accessibility software. Basicly get it to communicate with tools like Orca. Because this relies on input enabled zoom, there are some issues I like to clear up before I start. I don't want to directly base my work on any of the two publicly available zoom plugins. This means I'll be creating a

compiz/zoom question
Hello all, I was wondering is it possible to add the input functionality to the zoom plugin? Currently zoom plugin is one of my favorite ones, I can open a terminal and still not increase font size but zoom on and READ it... ... because I'm not able to input anything to it, please correct me if I'm wrong; maybe it is already possible, but I still don't know how to do that... Compiz on AIGLX
Last night I reworked compiz-aiglx patch from Kristian H?gsberg to get it working (i.e. patching and running) with latest compiz cvs. Most plugins and features are working again now : wobbly, minimize, resize, cube, rotate, move, fade, scale, place, zoom. However the last two plugins, switcher and decoration are broken. Decoration just draws nothing, I found that the problematic function call is

Release plans for Compiz 0.8.0
The Compiz 0.8.0 release will be the first release to include what was formerly known as Compiz Fusion. A complete feature and string freeze for Compiz 0.8 is in effect from Friday 5th of February, 23:59 GMT. I urge anyone with patches to submit them ASAP, regardless of their state. During most of Saturday, possibly spilling into Sunday, Compiz 0.8 will be branched and made ready for release.

Regarding freedesktop.org and Compiz
We were a little imprecise in our original announcement with regards to moving away from freedesktop.org, which seems to have caused some confusion. We are only moving away from the freedesktop.org infrastructure. NOT the standards. By moving away from freedesktop.org, we are: - Shutting down bug-submission on bugs.freedesktop.org. We will be using bugs.opencompositing.org which will soon be

Compiz 0.8 branched
I just branched for 0.8, since Danny told me there was no reason not to. There are still some bugs to work out of course, but since development has been quiet lately, I figure it's time to branch so that we can: 1. Eventually get to the next stable release 2. Allow people to work more freely on master On my personal list of things I want to see working better before a 0.8 release, I have

0.8-based Compiz work
For the last few weeks I've been fiddling with the 0.8 code-base, mostly because compiz got nuked in my distro and I had to do something, if for no other reason than to have a running WM. You can find my work at: https://github.com/KristianLyng/compiz (I'm also tracking issues there) I've done what I felt like doing, some of which would've been controversial/problematic 5 years

The future of Compiz
Where are we going? It's time to start thinking ahead and really figure out how to make Compiz survive, specially in lieu of Dennis' suggestion. The reality is that there has been the equivalent of no progress since the merge. We've basically only been in maintenance mode. The reason for this, from my point of view, is a complete lack of direction and leadership. We've

Advice to plugin developers during 0.9
As 0.9 will contain numerous core-changes which are likely to affect both behavior and plugin development, the recommended way of developing new plugins throughout 0.9 will be to use the released developer versions, NOT master. The exceptions are plugins that are already part of the release and plugins that depend on functionality that only exist in master. This will allow plugin developers to

Zoom plugin changes
I'm sorry for being rude, but I am quite upset by this, because it has gone too far. I posted a few weeks ago that I was going to be working on zoom over the summer to improve the accessibility, and I have already begun to do that. Every step of the way I have made frequent commits to opencompositing.org and described the progress in my blog. I asked for information about what your (David)

Problems in ezoom plugin
Hello list! I'm writing to you because I'm experiencing two problems with the Enhanced Zoom Desktop plugin. 1. If the mouse isn't over the current window, I can't zoom in/out. I filled a bug on launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1349152 But I don't know if that is the right place to be, because (as far as I know) Ubuntu developers aren't
