Residual resampling for non linear reg model
I was attempting to use the residual resampling approach to generate 999 bootstrap samples of alpha and beta and find their confidence intervals. However, I keep getting the error message:Error in nls(resample.mp ~ cases/(alpha + (beta * cases)), start = init.values, : singular gradientafter R has only produced a few bootstraps.Could anyone suggest where I am going wrong? Would greatly

[LLVMdev] [Frustration] API breakage
Hi all, I know this issue has been discussed over and over again, but I'd like to voice my opinion while 3.0 is still fairly early-ish in the pipeline. So the issue is... API breakage. I understand and agree with the rationale why, namely faster development. But this principle should mean that for each breakage, the dude who makes the breakage should accompany the final commit (or something

HardwareList - webcams
Hi List, The hardware list page on the Wiki: http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalResources/HardwareList says: "I'd like to see this page as an entry point for hardware that does not work with CentOS out of the box or only with some effort. I do not see a need for a list which states all working hardware." I'd like to ask if we can make a small exception to that rule for

New Release: One-Click Ruby Installer 1.8.4-17 release candidate 2
We are almost there to a final release. The uninstall issues have been fixed, and a few packages have been upgraded to more recent versions. Many thanks to Ryan Leavengood and Shahank Date who stepped in to help finish off this release! *** Only "show-stopper" problems will be fixed *** We are extreme short of manpower at the moment. So as much as I would like to address each and every

There are very decent solutions to the monotonic revnum issue (git describe, hooks/tagging), so that shouldn't hold back the transition.

Unable to fetch value for secret BCKUPKEY_, are we an undetected RODC?
Garming - thanks for your quick response. That link you gave me has Samba 3.x patches. I didn't notice any links to 4.x patches. Official Distro Releases are often behind the current stable release, generally. In fact, when I first installed Samba4 the Linux version was more recent than the Ubuntu version. This lag is probably due to abundance of caution and/or lack of manpower. I

Project suggestion: Interface between R and graphic devices
Hi to all developer, sure that I will not be the first one with this idea but I did not found treads about this. I realized that there are some user interfaces like Brodgar and SciViews. There was used a lot of manpower to develop those programs. On the other side I realized that it could be very helpful to have such programs if somebody would like to change the statistical software from SPSS

Your help needed: List of LLVM Open Projects 2017
Hi folks, Happy new year! Last LLVM Developers' Meeting I had a BoF: 'Raising Next Generation LLVM Developers'. It was suggested that we should update our open projects page and possibly restructure it a little bit. I volunteered to do this work and I need your help. Chandler and I started working on a google doc [1]. We pinged few code owners asking them to list of
