Ruby on Rails hosting on BlueHost.com -- Feeback needed
hi Friends,
Planning to use BlueHost.com for my Ruby on Rails application hosting on
their $6.95 per month. Is anyone using them ? What version of ROR do
they provide ? What kind of webserver does they provide ? How much RAM ?
Can i re-start the web-server if my ROR application demands ?
May be the above answers would be best answered by their sales dept. But
if anyone is using them, please

LLVM Developers,
We are looking for a great compiler engineer for our project at Siemens

Every half year or so, I probably will repost this list, adding and
subtracting as the community makes advances (or ignores what isn't

[RFC] One or many git repositories?
Hi Mehdi,
Thanks so much for writing this up! This will help many people who are
struggling to keep up with the post influx including myself :)

I must disagree with you here and this is the basis of all my messages; it
gives an insight into workflows but not their commonality. Only their
commonality among those who spoke up. That's why I

[OT] Rails hosting question -- video centric
This is OT in the sense that it''s yet another hosting question and not
strictly a problem I''m having with Rails. Basically, I trust and
appreciate the knowledge of the folks on this list so I''m hoping for
some insight.
I have a new project that I''ll be starting up soon. It''s basically
going to feed videos. The webapp piece is trivial. I''m

Music on Hold: CPU Intensive Monster
OK. So I did a test last night. All of asterisk's threads where using
0.0% CPU.
I made 1 call to our call queue.
CPU jumped to average of 9% and stayed around that for the 2 minutes I
was in the queue just listening to music on hold.
MOH is in MP3 format and I'm using format_mp3. Phone was linksys PAP2-NA
using G729.
Can I reasonably assume that the 9% was decoding the MP3, then

dbox - how to awaken the monster
Hello people,
Since the invention of this storage called dbox, I have never quite gotten
round to understanding it, nor getting to use it. It seems so strange to me
and I must ask a few stupid questions about it.
I use the MTA to deliver mail to Maildir, either in ~/Maildir or
/some/path/%d/%n/Maildir. It has always beat me how dbox comes into play
under such circumstances. From the wiki, I see

[ World of Warcraft ] The 1.8 Patch brings the target ( or targeting ) problem back
Hi,
It seems that the new 1.8 patch brings and old problem back. The problem
is :
It's impossible to target any world object without some
"tricks" [1] not always usable. This problem occured the first time with
the 1.5 patch. A lot of workarounds were given on the forum and,
finally,
the 2.6.12 kernel fixed the problem for a lot of people (like me).
Now the problem comes back but

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Hi,
Based on further research, it appears that Squid can only reverse proxy HTTP and HTTPs but NGINX is able to reverse proxy IMAP, POP3, and SMTP protocols.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thank you.

Search function in this Forum ??
This forum has been a great resource for me. It would be great if i can
search the forum before posting any question, as i''m sure someone has
already posted that question before. The search function has been
disabled for quite sometime now. I''ve already emailed the administrator
but haven''t got any response.
any idea on when this would be enabled ?
Thanks,

Unable to host backend on User Domains
Hi,
Is it possible to host a split driver between 2 user
domains. There is no concrete documentation on doing so.
I have basically copied the NETIF backend and frontend drivers and
created the split TEMPIF drivers. I have also changed the python scripts
to create devices.
When used between dom0 and domU this works.
By changing the protocol type of device i was be able to send

Shared Hosting Rails Sites ?
I can''t decide between a2hosting.com, successfulhosting.com, site5.com (which offers 11gb
of disk space for $8.77/month -- I''ll never use it), planetargon.com (which offers 1 gb
for $11/month), or railsplayground.com (which offers a gigabyte practically for free).
Any experiences you''d like to share?

OT: P4 Vs Xeon for Linux
I have just had delivered a new HP Proliant server and it is based on an
Intel Xeon 2.8GHz processor. On site already we have an Acer Altos G310 with
a P4 2.8GHz processor.
The new HP server was destined for another site with about 30 persons to
service some simple file and print sharing and to manage their email
(postfix + MailScanner). The Acer is hosting our Intranet, file and print
