Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
There should be no issue with the varying bit rate. For an MP3 stream, you
can change bit rates mid-stream all you want as long as you keep the sample
rate and channel counts the same.
If you check chrome://media-internals, you'll see that you're getting
a PIPELINE_ERROR_DECODE. Since Chrome v64, it has been a lot more picky
about the streams it accepts.
I suspect that Icecast is

Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
Hello Oskar,
No i didn’t face it with this exact version of Chrome but with different versions and other players/ Webbrowsers.
IMHO you should first try to set encoding of intro and stream identical. And try different players.

Leif

Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
Hi there,
Any other versions of Google Chrome and all version of other browsers are working.
I have done my best to set up the intro to match the live stream.
http://185.139.168.34:8000/yleisohjelma
- intro is 256 kbits/s 48 kHz ISO-MPEG2 L3
- live is 256 kbits/s 48 kHz ISO-MPEG2 L3
http://185.139.168.34:8000/vara
- live is 128 kBits/s 48 kHz, possible ISO-MPEG2 L3
- there is no intro

Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
Hello Oskar,
I had a similar problem. The fix was to produce an intro file with same Bitrate, sampling rate (khz), channels and so on as the stream.
Most players get confused when one of this parameters changes in between.
Cheers
Leif

Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
Hi Leif,
Did You faced that with the exact same Chrome version? Since this version is the only one having this issue. I have had this kind of arrangement (intro + live stream) for decades. Technology changes but the idea is the same. I have tested a lot of hardware and combinations.
I do have a fail over stream (with different specs) and that hasn’t been an issue at all.
I do not know but I

Intro & Chrome v. 65.0.33.25.181
Hi there,
I ran to dead end when Google released a new version for Chrome. I have tried to search with google and I haven’t found anything.
There seems to be a problem when a stream has an intro element. It only plays the the intro and does not allow the stream to be played.
http://185.139.186.34:8000/yleisohjelma
And if there is no intro then it will play like:

mp3 stream and Chrome v.65.0.33.25.181
Hi there,
I have used VLC 0.9.9 on Windows platform for streaming audio to icecast2 for years. Had no problems. Since Google Chrome v.65.0.33.25.181 I ran into problems. Stream will play couple of minutes and then stop.
Is there something fundamentally wrong with my configuration in vlm configuration:

IceCast 2.2 MP3 stream and Real Player noise
Two other players that I am aware of that have Icecast2 issues have been
VLC and CoreCodec BetaPlayer. I have been in contact with both developer
paths and set up test streams for them in an attempt to get this fixed.
CoreCodec is in the process of making the necessary changes. I do not know
about VLC. I was never able to get confirmation.

Chrome not allowing mixed content anymore
Hi all,
Can you explain the use case here a bit more? I think I'm missing something
in my understanding.
If you enable TLS/HTTPS, you should enable it on a different port (eg. 443)
and keep your existing HTTP port for Icecast so that your stations will
continue to work in external players (Winamp, playlists, VLC, etc.).
However, you should update all embedded links to your stream on your

@Mikel
You could use Centova's port 80 proxy meanwhile couldn't you?
Also. Centova Cast doesn't have an SSL setting for the servers unless
you're manually overwriting the server config files.. or is it?

VLC Media Player is one of the best media players you will need. It can play multiply formats, like MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MP3, and OGG, as well as for DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. It is free, open source, cross-platform.

iOS and authenticated streams
Hi everyone,
I've setup a mount with URL authentication. This works perfectly from a
desktop machine using Chrome or VLC. I've previously used public streams
from iOS played through mobile chrome or safari (and others have used the
Radio Box app), which also worked perfectly. However, when I load an
stream that requires authentication on mobile Chrome, it prompts me for the

Voicemail: don't play vm-intro if custom intro is recorded.
Hi Gang
We migrated our voicemail system from asterisk 13 to 16 a couple of
months ago.
Right after the migration, we got the complaint that vm-intro is being
played when the customer had recorded a own announcement. So I assumed
we had replaced that file by a zero lenght one on the previous
installation and did the same to suppress that surplus intro.
Now I got the opposite complaint: If the

Add an intro to a theora file without re-encoding?
Hello,
I would like to add a introduction video (typically a title with fade-in
/ fade-out) at the beginning of an Ogg/Theora video. I generated this
intro video in Ogg/Theora from a sequence of png files.
I would need to do this in an automatic script, because I have many such
videos to process, and without doing any re-encoding step (which would
be very costly because my videos are huge).

<intro> stream stopt after intro
Hi Guys,
I'm using the icecast-2.1-kh5 for the intro feature. The intro works,
but after the intro it stops. It does not go on
with the stream. When I comment the intro part, the stream works perfectly.
Does anybody know what I can do to solve this problem?
