Strange problems with compiling dll
Dear sir\madam! I'm trying to speed up my R code by writing quite simple dll's in C. But I faced some problems, and I cannot determine their source. #include <Rinternals.h> SEXP mycombin(SEXP N, SEXP k){ int i, *j, *l, c; j = INTEGER(k);l = INTEGER(N); c = 1; if(j[0] > 0 && j[0] < l[0]){ if(j[0] <= l[0] - j[0]){ for(i =

Need help debugging R.
I originally posted this to R-help, but here is probably a better place. I have a rather complex routine which works great in R. Then I bootstrap it. After running a few minutes it typically segfaults, though it happens very randomly. This happens w/ 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 on Fedora1 and a Scyld (RH7.3) system. Traces always point back to routines in src/main/memory.c, though often not the same

load/unload segfault puzzle
Dear r-devel readers, I have a pretty deep problem with package loading and unloading in the development version of the lme4 package <https://github.com/lme4/lme4>; it's not boiled down to a properly minimal example yet (this has been difficult), but I am posting anyway in the hopes that someone has ideas about how to proceed farther, since I'm nearly stumped. Apologies in advance

gctorture() and gzfile() doesn't get along.
Found the simpliest way of seeing I bug I encountered doing "R CMD check --use-gct": Just launch R (with --vanilla), and do this: > ?gctorture # this work > gctorture() > ?gctorture Error in gzfile(file, "rb") : can only weakly reference/finalize reference objects # this does not It seems that when gctorture() is on gzfile() doesn't work.

Something is wrong with the unserialize function
Hi all, I am not able to export an ALTREP object when `gctorture` is on in the worker. The package simplemmap can be used to reproduce the problem. See the example below ``` ## Create a temporary file filePath <- tempfile() con <- file(filePath, "wrb") writeBin(rep(0.0,10),con) close(con) library(simplemmap) library(parallel) cl <- makeCluster(1) x <- mmap(filePath,

Segfault: .Call and classes with logical slots
Hi, the following example aiming at a class containing a logical slot segfaults under R-1.9.0 when `gctorture(on = TRUE)' is used: Code code (dummy.c): #include <Rdefines.h> SEXP foo() { SEXP ans; PROTECT(ans = NEW_OBJECT(MAKE_CLASS("test"))); SET_SLOT(ans, install("lgl"), allocVector(LGLSXP, 1)); LOGICAL(GET_SLOT(ans,

memory bug in is.na[n]() (PR#952)
I've forgotten to submit this as bug report (and haven't easily seen how to debug). The bug is both for is.na() and is.nan() {which makes much sense since the C code of the two is very similar!}; only one is shown below. Martin ------- start of forwarded message ------- From: Martin Maechler <maechler@stat.math.ethz.ch> To: R-core@stat.math.ethz.ch Subject: another is.nan

[BioC] RCurl loading problem with 64 bit linux distribution
Martin, Well, thanks for jumping in! We need all the help we can get ;) I changed the execute bit as you suggested and recompiled, no luck, still the same error message. Below is the output you wanted me to look at, its a bit beyond me so I include both a brief grep summary and then the whole enchilada. I do note that my output is different from yours, but I'm not sure how to interpret. I

Build a R call at C level
Hi All, I was reading the R extension manual section 5.11 ( Evaluating R expression from C) and I tried to build a simple call to the sum function. Please see below. call_to_sum <- inline::cfunction( language = "C", sig = c(x = "SEXP"), body = " SEXP e = PROTECT(lang2(install(\"sum\"), x)); SEXP ans = PROTECT(eval(e, R_GlobalEnv)); UNPROTECT(2); return

Garbage collection of seemingly PROTECTed pairlist
I want to write an R function using R's C interface that takes a 2-column matrix of increasing, non-overlapping integer intervals and returns a list with those intervals plus some added intervals, such that there are no gaps. For example, it should take the matrix rbind(c(5L, 6L), c(7L, 10L), c(20L, 30L)) and return list(c(5L, 6L), c(7L, 10L), c(11L, 19L), c(20L, 30L)). Because the output is

Return a list from a .Call but segfaults
Hello, I call a function via .Call passing to it a raw vector(D) and an integer(I) The vector is a series K1,KData1, V1,VData1, K2, KData2, ... where the integer K1 is the length of Data1 and similarly for Ki (wrt Datai)(similarly for V*) There 2*I such pairs( (Ki,KDatai), (Vi,VDatai)) The numbers Ki(and Vi) are written in network order. I am returning a list of I elements each element a
