Another MPT issue - kernel crash
Hi all,
I have faced yet another kernel panic that seems to be related to mpt
driver.
This time i was trying to add a new disk to a running system (snv_134)
and this new disk was not being detected...following a tip i ran the
lsitool to reset the bus and this lead to a system panic.
MPT driver : BAD TRAP: type=e (#pf Page fault) rp=ffffff001fc98020

Crossbow integration with Solaris 10/08
Hi,
>From what I have read, the create-vnic feature in dladm is only available
within the context of crossbow...?
Specifically, what I am wondering is whether it is at all possible to
successfully install crossbow on top of Sun''s "Standard/sunsolve supported"
Solaris 10/08 rather than OpenSolaris, per. Se....
Is this at all feasible?
Many thanks in advance..

Code review for stopper: 7315 xVM VNC service doesn''t work
http://cr.opensolaris.org/~johnlev/xvm-vnc-chown/
Now Xvnc runs as the ''jack'' user on the live CD, the password file must
be owned by jack for it to work.
Note that a full fix for this would make this VNC service only exist on
the live CD[1]. As a temporary measure, we just disable ourselves
post-install.
Process question: after putting back to pkg-gate, does this need

zfs root pool on upgraded host
Hi,
I installed opensolaris on a x2200 m2 with two internal drives that had
an existing root pool with a Solaris 10 update 6. After installing
opensolaris 2009.06 the host refused to boot. The opensolaris install
was fine. I had to pull the second hard drive to get the host to boot.
Then insert the second drive and relabel the old root pool to something
other than rpool. Then the host was

Resize ocfs....?
I've tried several times to resize one of my ocfs volumes[see emcpowere1 below]
I'm on the latest [prod] version of ocfs/ocfs-tools as of 3pm EST on 18JUL04.
Per instructions...
Take down db, unmount all ocfs drives, use ' tuneocfs -F -S 100G /dev/emcpowere1 '
Supposedly this should work, but I get get....
The size specified, 100G, is larger than the device size, 59G.
Aborting.

objects disappear from dladm after reboot
On OpenSolaris 2009.06 I created a flow, half a dozen VNICs, and I set some properties, and everything was working, then I rebooted my system and everything disappeared from show-vnic, show-flow, and show-prop. When I tried to re-create the objects, dladm said they already existed. While I could not see the objects, I could delete them. Example:
# dladm show-vnic
# dladm create-vnic -l bge0

Destination file a lot larger then source (real size)
I have a script that syncs my backups to an NFS mount every day
The script works fine, without any errors, but there is a problem when
it comes to some large files
Let's take my pst file (8.9 gig) as an example
Source:
du -hs mypst.pst
8.9G mypst.pst
ls -alh mypst.pst
-rw-rw---- 1 me me 8.9G Jan 25 17:07 mypst.pst
That seems OK
Let's do that on the destination:
du -hs mypst.pst

creating a vnic to represent the factory MAC address
How do I create a vnic that represents the factory assigned MAC
address of my physical nic?
The bge device in my system (x2100) appears to support 4 MAC
addresses. The driver reserves the first as the ''primary/default''
address and allows manipulation of the other three via the
MAC_CAPAB_MULTIADDRESS interface.
I''d like to use vnics on this system, as I have Xen guest

Creating named.list from two matrix columns
Hi Friends,
I am new to R.
On R utility class pages, creating "named.list" is described with this command :
new("named.list",a=1,b=2)
For large matrix having two columns, such as :
"row1" 2334
"row2" 347
"row3" 379
...
I want to create a named.list like :
$row1
[1] 2334
$row2
[1] 347
...
Can anyone explain how "named.list"

can we help with libvorbis release for CVE fixes?
Yes, the gitlab instance is the correct upstream development
repository. We maintain a mirror at github for the convenience of
developers there.
Cheers,
Ralph

can we help with libvorbis release for CVE fixes?
Hi Ralph,
Thank you for your reply!
For context -- we consider reported CVEs as bugs even if it's in a third-party library we use (such as libvorbis). We first determine if the CVE is something that would impact our customer workflows. In this case because of our use of libvorbis for audio I/O, it does impact our customers so we need to resolve the CVE as soon as possible.

new 1.3.7 and fix for CVE-2018-10392 (issue 2335)?
Hi Ralph,
Again, thanks so much for doing all this! Plus thanks to all the folks who contributed to the new release!
Quick clarifying question -- Isn't CVE-2018-10392 (looks like it’s fixed in https://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/vorbis/-/issues/2335) also included in new version 1.3.7? If so can you please add it to release notes?

getting nut 2.6.4 working in Nas4Free

fine on Freenas 0.7.2.
O/S: Nas4Free 9.0.0.1.148 which comes with nut 2.6.4.

Driver : usbhid-ups
Port: auto
my NAS is communicating with the UPS, but in testing power failures, I'm
not getting the shutdown to be handled properly.
When I pull the AC plug on the UPS,
