ip neigh show and NUD_NOARP state - is it possible ?
Hello, I know that there are devices which are not working with arp. For example, the loopback device. I was wondering whether it is possible to create neighbours in a NUD_NOARP state; so that "ip neigh show" will show such neighbours where their state is NUD_ARP. I made some tests with the loopback device , but could not find such a way to cause it to appear as NUD_NOARP. Also if I

Re: routing between networks on same
Hi Tom, Thank you for your quick reply. I aplied changes as you suppose, and now users can comunicate each with others. - thank you very much. I have just one aditional question regarding PKTTYPE=No variable. I didnt find it in shorewall.conf so I simply add it at the end of conf file (above #Last line :-) ) So question is it is standard feature of shorewall, and from which version it is

[PATCHv3 3/4] qemu-kvm: vhost-net implementation
This adds support for vhost-net virtio kernel backend. To enable (assuming device eth2): 1. enable promisc mode or program guest mac in device eth2 2. disable tso, gso, lro, jumbo frames on the card (disabling lro + jumbo frames should be sufficient, haven't tested this) 3. add vhost=eth2 to -net flag 4. run with CAP_NET_ADMIN priviledge (e.g. root) This patch is RFC, but works without

Support for macOS feth devices
Hi, I am currently using the L2 tunnel feature of ssh between two Linux machines, and it works beautifully! As a result, I have come to prefer a workflow that uses an L2 tunnel, but I can't seem to find a long-term solution for this workflow on macOS. At the moment, tap devices on macOS can be generated using a kernel extension like tuntaposx <http://tuntaposx.sourceforge.net/>;

Problem setting locale for voicemail
I've set voicemail almost successfully, only a minor detail remains :-) I can't get the dates in my local language (spanish). In sip.conf, zapata.conf and voicemail.conf, I've set: language=es and my locale is "es" also. However, the days and months names still appear in english in the emails!!! Tinc on MacOs X
My intention is to set up tinc so that I can connect from home to an office network. All CPUs are running MacOs X, 10.2.8 or 10.3.5. I have read the tinc manual, tincd.8 and tinc.conf.5. However, I am still unclear about a few issues. First and foremost, how to I setup the VPN interfaces on the hosts, on MacOs X? Which file do I have to alter and what is the exact syntax on Os X to setup

Assigning IPv6 address to guest
Hello, I am trying to assign an IPv6 address to one of my guests. I followed the following guide, unsuccessfully: https://www.berrange.com/posts/2011/06/16/providing-ipv6-connectivity-to-virtual-guests-with-libvirt-and-kvm/ . I have the following config files: dumpxml of the guest `deb`: http://sprunge.us/iUef net-dumpxml of network `default`: http://sprunge.us/WTfH net-dumpxml of network `ip6`:

Joining a Windows XP pc to Samba / LDAP domain
Hi, guys, I'm trying to create a PDC using Samba with an LDAP backend. According to all the guides I read, this should be fairly easy really, but I've done nothing else for the last week and it still doesn't work the way the manual says it should! As far as I can see, everything is set up and working correctly right up to the point when I try and join a machine to the domain.

[PATCHv4 3/6] qemu/net: add raw backend
Add raw network backend option which uses a packet socket to provide raw networking access. Once the socket is opened it's bound to a provided host interface, such that packets received on the interface are delivered to the VM and packets sent by the VM are sent to the interface. This is functionally similar to the existing pcap network backend, with the same advantages and problems.
