The Shorewall list server is back on line
There was a lengthy power failure here in Shoreline this morning and my firewall did not come back up when power was restored. The firewall is now up and service to the server has been restored. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool Shoreline, \ http://shorewall.net Washington USA \ teastep@shorewall.net PGP Public Key \

2 external Interfaces and dozens of tunnels to MASQ
I have a firewall with 2 connections to the internet (eth1 and eth2) and one LAN interface. on the LAN interface, the users can connect via PPTP. those authenticating via pptp shall be masqueraded over eth2, those not authenticating should be ordinary masqueraded over eth1. as from the archives I took the configuration like in FAQ32, but this doesn''t work with the ppp+ interfaces. I

2 internet connections for 2 different purposes
I''ve got a linux machine (fedora core 3) with 4 network cards. I looked at the howto and the only example that is close to what I need to do is section 4.2 on multiple uplink providers. I feel like I''m so close but just can''t get my head around the final part. Here is what I have eth2 and eth4 connect to 2 different isps. I want all connections the come from my dmz

2 external IPs on one nic in addition to the regular DMZ and loc nics
I did some looking on the mailing list archives and can''t seem to find exactly what I need, I''m also having troubles figuring this out on my own, so if anyone has any advice, tips, whatever, that would be great. I''ve got a machine with 3 network cards in it, one for a DMZ (with 3 machines on a switch each with a real IP address), one for the local network on a

IAX error tolerence??
Hi, Didn't get any opinions on the log file I mailed onto the list over the weekend so I am continuing to try and track the cause for the dropped calls.. I have a feeling that its to do with IAX being way too sensitive when it comes to packet loss.. Since it is going across the internet it needs to be more tolerant when it comes to errors and packet loss.. Are there any settings (in the

PDC and BDC with LDAP and Samba 2.2.4
Hi, I'm trying to build a PDC and BDC to elimenate Windows NT on a network and have load balancing and fault tolerence for users. I've compiled samba 2.2.4 on two servers, working with openldap 2.0.23 with a master and a slave. Replication on LDAP servers works fine. I've set up a domain controller and wanted to set the other server as BDC in case the PDC goes down. Each time i put

load balancing and fault tolerance in networking
Hi! I''m studying load balancing and fault tolerance using multiple WAN interfaces. I follow the howto in http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt but the problem is that faults detected are limited only in link between lan gateway and modem/router adsl, and none about adsl signal. Someone can tell me another howto about fault tolerance using a different method? (that solve my problem) I know

package "wmtsa": how to set up the Tolerance vector to detect time series peaks blindly
In my previous experience with wmtsa function wavCWTPeaks I realized the Tolerance vector passed to the multi-scale decomposition function "wavCWTTree" is crucial for detecting the time series extrema and prevent the R script from aborting. By trial & error I recently managed to figure out the Tolerance vector values in a single case (please see attachments). I am looking for some

mind to bitter, interest to joy, tolerance to macro, speech
Sooner or later, the same The teacher to the student in his class at the effects of collective speak, told a story. The story is: a sheep, and leave the sheep eaten by the Wolf. Finish the story, the teacher asked: "the classmates, if this sheep honestly stay in the flock, it won't be the wolves eat, isn't it?" A little boy stood up and replied, "of course. But, it is

SIP hardphones with good jitter tolerance
Greetings list, Quite a few of our users seem to be experiencing poor voice quality when they're using internet connections over which we have little or no control (i.e. they're using their own router with no QoS, etc.). Some of these connections are giving a qualify time within asterisk of 130ms+. Are there any recommendations as to phones with particularly good buffering that might

"ConnectTo" to two server for fault-tolerance
Hello, I tried to use two ?ConnectTo? entries in my config. If both servers are up, anything is working as expected. But if one of the two servers is offline or not reachable I will not get a connection at all. Not even to the reachable server. I would like to have it fault tolerant, is this possible? Thanks, best regards, -- Florian Lagg - Florian Lagg - IT-Komplettl?sungen

Rsync & Connection Fault Tolerance
Is there a rsync version or a way to make rsync tolerant of multiple disconnections during a large mirror copy....both large files & large number of files. I seem to get better performance from wget than rsync...by the time rsync has gotten the list of files...connection drops and rsync gives error and has to be started over again. Hope someone can help me. With best regards. Sanjay.

Extracting tolerance in R?
Dear list, How is the tolerance for a model parameter in an lm() call extracted? I did not see a solution in the documentation for lm(), or predict(), nor in the archives using 'tolerance' as the search string. I also checked into the nlme package, though nothing popped out at me. Sincerely, KeithC.

Tolerance levels in stepwise regression
Hello, I have been using the step() function for stepwise regression and was wondering if there was a way to specify a tolerance level either using step() or another stepwise function. So far I have only found an option to specify tolerance in lm.fit() but I am not an experienced R user and am not quite sure if this command can be implemented using a stepwise function. I have tried simply
