R-4.0.0 and Texlive 2020 installed on EmmabuntusDE4 (Debian Bullseye)
Hi Johannes, Thank you for your comments. I run sudo apt install -t bullseye-cran40 r-base and have now the current R-4.0.0 in /usr/lib/R with links in the menus and R-devel R-4.1.0 in ~/patrice/svn/R/r-devel/build. Perfect. I used sid just to get the full Texlive 2020. I will probably not update it for a while and have already removed (commented) the sid line in sources.list as I do not

latex warning
Dear all, I am getting an R CMD check warning about the PDF manual. I am having a hard time finding out what is wrong, here is the log of the Rd2pdf call. The full check (and other) log is at https://api.travis-ci.org/jobs/46373922/log.txt?deansi=true if anybody is interested, and the package itself is here: https://github.com/metacran/r-builder/tree/bintex/rbuildertest Thanks, Best, Gabor

there are fontencoding problem in Sweave
I want write article by russian language using Sweave. For cyrillic text LaTeX use T2A encoding \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} But in Sweave.sty we find: \RequirePackage[T1]{fontenc} It is source of critical problem. For example Rnw file $ cat estimation.Rnw \documentclass[A4paper]{article} \usepackage[T2A]{fontenc} \usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[russian,english]{babel}

Error building package: LaTeX error when creating PDF version
Hi all I am trying to build an R package, which I have successfully done many times before, but have an error I cannot trace. I hope someone can help me. Here's is some edited output (full output below if it is useful): pdunn2 at PDunnUbuntu:~/DSdata$ R CMD build GLMsData * checking for file 'GLMsData/DESCRIPTION' ... Problem with inconsolata font (again) --- on Fedora 17 this time.
Some while ago I posted a problem on this list concerning a failure of R CMD check on one of my packages that resulted from LaTeX being unable to find the "inconsolata" font. This was under the Ubuntu OS. This was solved, thanks to advice I got from this list, basically by doing sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-extra I am now (for reasons which I won't go into) running

Installing texlive dependencies
Hello ALL! I am running Fedora 16 x86_64. Due to some dubious problems with the TeXLive (2007, which is a default), I removed it. That removed R as well, and some other dependent packages. Then, I installed TeXLive 2011 from CTAN. However, when I wanted to install R, from Fedora's repositories, it asks for some TeX dependencies (for example, tex-preview, texinfo-tex, texlive, texlive-dvips

Fedora 29 upgrade: texlive-scheme-medium may depend on R (texlive-includernw)
Hello! I'm confused as to what the actual problem with includeRnw is? Is the problem that it relies on R-knitr? Before it would be withdrawn, may I be given an opportunity to fix said problem? includeRnw only invokes the already existing R installation, and should not affect any other global settings or affect the installation in any way. If this is the case, it's a bug and I'd

R-3.6.2 make check fails
I am trying to build the latest version of R (3.6.2) on a CentOS system running 7.7.1908. I have been able to build previous versions of R up to and including 3.5.3 successfully. Starting with 3.6.0 the "make check" step fails with errors relating to "pdflatex" being missing. So, I installed texlive-latex (and the 100 other rpm dependencies) then tried rebuilding R.

the tag Obsoletes: in spec files
How exactly to use the tag "Obsoletes:" in a spec file ? I need to offer texlive to users on Centos-5.6, so I packaged it (based on a Mandriva src.rpm), and that works. But I want rpm to *replace* tetex by texlive, instead of just adding texlive, when users do a : $ yum install texlive (we have a local repo here). So I added this line in texlive.spec : Obsoletes: tetex and of

Fedora 29 upgrade: texlive-scheme-medium may depend on R
On upgrading my F28 to F29, I've found that R-core and a number of R packages: R-evaluate R-glue R-highr R-knitr R-magrittr R-markdown R-mime R-stringi R-stringr R-yaml are installed, although I only ever install R from source and always keep my Rs locally. So I don't use Fedora R rpms, but these were installed without my command. Something in texlive is doing this. A remedy is to

Recent version of Latex
I've moved most of my user's PCs from OpenSuse (11.x, unmaintainend now) to CentOS 6.4. On my old OpenSuse latex was "texlive-latex-2010" and current version on CTAN is texlive-2013. But on CentOS 6.4 I've only the old texlive-latex-2007 and several sty files available on my previous config are not available now and users cannot compile their previous documents. Is

R-3.6.2 make check fails
You're definitely missing bits of texlive. Lots of "missing file: mf" in your debug logs. I think you need to start with installing texlive-metafont. Alternately, there are pre-built R 3.6.2 packages for EL-7 here: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1421894 I cannot push them as official updates to EPEL because of the catch-22 created by R's dependency on

TeX Live on CentOS 7
I always install official TeXLive in /usr/local/texlive - yum update thanks me. Every few months I update it, but keeping it outside of RPM means I don't get tons of individual packages, many that I never use, constantly updating in yum.
