with for objects
Is there a form of with (or an equivalent function) that can be applied to objects? I'd like to be able to write something like (drawing from bioconductor + trellis as an example) xyplot(maA ~ maM | maPrintTip, object = swirl[,1]) which would be interpreted as xyplot(swirl[,1]@maA ~ swirl[,1]@maM | swirl[,1]@maPrintTip) (or even better, match functions not slots eg. as

Problem installing/loading packages from Africa
I'm very new to R and I live in Mali, west Africa. I'm on *OS X 10.7.5*. I downloaded and installed *R 3.2.1*. I downloaded and installed *RStudio 00.99.893*. I ran through the free Microsoft data camp intro to R course, then started another free course through 'edX', for Data and Statistics for Life Sciences, using R. The first prompt in the course is to

a question about read.marrayRaw
Hi, everyone, I ran the test case in "Introduction to the Bioconductor marrayInput package first. When I ran the session in (read.marrayRaw) I got the following error messages. Other sessions work well. The functions and errors are labled with blue and red respectively. >mraw <- read.Spot(path = datadir, layout = galinfo$layout, gnames = galinfo$gnames, target = swirlTargets) Error

How to install C&C: Tiberium Dawn in Ubuntu Karmic
Hi, I am currently using a hp mini, and my wine version is 1.0.0. I am trying to install Command and Conquer: Tiberium Dawn from the official website, and run it on ubuntu karmic using wine. When I tried it last night, I ran into the installation error: "Unable to locate necessary files. Please run setup.exe from the CD-ROM disc". Apparently others have run into this error, as it is

RHEL 4 + 5 wallpaper?
Hi, I know I know: upstream minus artwork. Nevertheless, I admit I'd like to simply use the RHEL background wallpaper for my desktop. Something like: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/linux/images/rhel4/44-Desktop.jpg Can't seem to find these (4 and 5). Any idea? Cheers, Niki

Performing post-installation setup tasks - for 75 minutes
I'm doing a new install, and everything seems to have gone fine apart from the incredible amount of time it's taken. It does have 6 x 4TB drives in RAID6 and I am installing from a USB DVD drive as I had no SATA ports left, but this is getting rediculous. I chose a simple install (the one above file and print server) and added Postgresql but that was about it. It took over 5 hours

24 bits samples
Hi I am trying to use opus for encoding AES (spdif) stream . I suppose that input samples should be 16 bits in opus but samples in AES stream can be at most 24 bits. Can opus accepts samples more than 16 bits without any modifications in source codes ? If answer is No then "How can I modify opus to accept these 24 bits samples ?" gdm won't start
I'm trying to set up a new CentOS 4.2 desktop, and gdm refuses to start. It blanks the screen, displays the swirling blue circle mouse cursor that appears to be an hourglass equivalent, then drops back to the console window. It repeats this several times then displays the following error: The display server has been shut down about 6 times in the last 90 seconds, it is likely that something

24 bits samples
Hi It pretty works for 16 bits samples but not for 24 bits samples. In fact, I am going to implement opus on ADSP-21489 (DSP processor from Analog Devices), I compiled "celt directory" from opus 1.1 and used "opus_custom_demo.c". It hasn't any problem with 16 bits samples but when I use 24 bits samples , there is no output audio. opus_decoder will still generate 16 bits

Centos-6, LVM and KVM guest image
CentOS-6.0 I created an lv (120 Gb) to hold the image of a KVM guest instance. I mounted this at /var/lib/libvirt/images/lv_guest01. When I do a df I see the lv is mounted at the desired location. When I run the virtual machine manager from the desktop I am given the option to install the image into the root directory tree or to browse for an alternative location. When I browse to the mount
