Gapless Support
Hi,
i?m not part of the FLAC project, but i have a question regarding FLAC and
Gapless support
I hope, I get an answer from some of you ;-)
We are currently try to add Gapless support on our device
If we rip an CD
with our device, we can find out, that one track follow after another so we
can
recognize, that the tracks are gapless or not.
But how can we find that out on already existing

IceS output to alsa sound card
Hi Guys,
I'd reflect Vieri's question actually, because there must be a way of
doing it? Maybe not with ICES, but maybe combines with JackIT?
The reason for my interest is I work in a radio station in Spain, and
because of the geographics where I am we have to relay around a lot.
If there is a way of sending an incoming feed into ICES, and sending
it out in various directions, would

Howto recieve a header or something for icecast stations
Hi,
Sorry for my newbie question, but I can not find it documented anywhere and
I am too lazy to browse other peoples code :-).
I want to implement shoutcast/icecast listening support for my app. It did
not seem to be any problem with shoutcast, but playing around with some
icecast stations tonight I found that I am not able to receive any plaintext
headers when first opening a stream. Some ogg

Playing a recorded mp3 file like a livestream
Hi,
For question 3, I think there is ezstream (https://icecast.org/ezstream/) which can to an endless loop like you wish. All files should (actually must) be encoded in the format of your stream.
Also I would setup the mpuntpoints in a row:
- live mp with fallback to ezstream mp
- ezstream mp with fallback to static file
So if ezstream fails you deliver the static file.

relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
This is killing me...
I've tried everything I can think of, but Icecast still crashes if I define
more than 10 listen-socket ports. Is there a limit that's not documented or
is this a bug? I'm using the latest Windows build that OddSock compiled.
Thanks for any help/ideas

Connecting to yp.shoutcast.com

Perhaps the real question you should ask is..."should" anyone worry
about this at all?
Personally speaking, I've been streaming for quite a while (barring a
few networking problems) and I've always seen the same behavior from
the shoutcast (Nullsoft) people.

Question about buffering with icecast protocol
OK, Thanks a lot Karl and Elf. It's clear to me now. Shoutcast gives you (by
default) a much larger burst and that's the difference I was seeing.
By the way: do you know sources for lists of stations? I see a "stream
directory" at icecast.org, but I don't know if it's available to download (I
think using a program to dig the info from the web is not ethical, as least

trouble in nullsoft land.
Brainstorming Idea:
Possibly add an xml api to the current yp logic,
that way 3rd party providers could parse the stations in the yp off
icecast.org in there media players.
of course a plugin for winamp would be the first obvious choice(since the
already have there own media library but uses yp.shoutcast.com), but others
would follow.
I remember seeing something previously at dir.xiph.org but

Using PuppetDB REPL
I want to experiment a bit with PuppetDB and in the documentation there''s
mention of the built in remote repl, but I can''t seem to get it working.
After enabling it on "/etc/puppetdb/conf.d/repl.ini":
[repl]
enabled = true
type = nrepl
port = 8082
When I restart it the log "/var/log/puppetdb/puppetdb.log" shows that it''s

can I create command line versions of the newer test releases?
Hi,
I am a newbe here, so I hope I am not asking something crazy. I was looking on the Celt downloads and I noticed that the latest command line builds were for version 0.6. I know it is still early in development, and that the devs probably don't have time for developing CL versions for everything. since I know nothing about sourcecode and whatnot, I was wondering if there was a fairly simple

OT: whats your opinion of ODDSOCK streamTranscoder?
What is everyones opinion and expierience with using ODDSOCK
streamTranscoder to downsample mp3 streams?
I tried it on Windows 2000 and then compared it against shoutCAST DSP
plugin. It sucked. It skipped and popped and cut off the first 1/2 second of
each track and dropped. It sucked, while shoutCast DSP was flawless.
What attracted to me to streamTranscoder was you don't have to run an MP3

DNAS v1 YP
I've been told that Icecast streams could be listed on the popular
Shoutcast.com directory if it supported the new DNAS v2 protocol for YP
updates. Any thoughts of adding support for that?

Question about buffering with icecast protocol
Hi,
I?ve seen that shoutCAST sends data much faster than real time when you
connect (for a while I assume, otherwise you?d be travelling to the
future:). That?s useful for fast buffering.
With icecast I don?t get that behavior, stream downloads at real time. Is
there a way to buffer data faster than real time? Maybe a ?seek? feature? I
need that because I need to allocate a special large
